I checked some jars today with Panaeolus tropicalis spawn on rye. I was amazed to find some sclerotia-like structures in them.

i have found simmilar sclerota-like nodes of fungus growing beneith cow dung where panaeolus sphinctrinus mushrooms grow :) i wouls say tho, that a few nodes the size of a matchhead would not be anything worth eating.youed need a HUGE growth substrate because i understand that paneolus mushrooms have a very sparse rate of sclerota formation. to pick enough of those for a trip, you would probably need too carefully gather them from about a bathtub full of substrate that has been spread out. cool bluing in that one tho, almost looks like it was poked with an ink pen :)
madness never slows down, it only piles up.

Personally i really don't like the smell of Panaeolus mycelium, somehow i think it smells a little like fish.
