Questions about an indoor martha-type fruiting chamber

I just received and built a mini green house today. Here's a picture:

As you can see, I have an ultrasonic that blows in near the top which will turn on for 15 minutes every hour or two. I have a coolmist that is on the bottom shelf that will be on 24/7. I will be adding a plastic container filled with perlite at the bottom, and also an 18" fluorescent light at the top which will be on 12 hours/off 12 hours. My question is : What is my best option for FAE? Should I leave the front door down but unzipped, should i add a fan somewhere, or what other options do I have?
Thanks!

You don't need the ultrasonic, the coomist alone will create more than enough RH. Leave the door down and unzipped and cut holes in the side of the greenhouse for FAE. Leave the coolmist on 24/7. Its better to put the coolmist on a 1min on 2min off cycle (or something like that) if you have a cycle timer, to cut down on the amount of condensation it will create, but they are pricey. When you put the container at the bottom make sure the plastic goes into the container so the water dripping off of it will be contained. If you don't you will get water all over you floor.

So if I decided to stick this outside, would I just run the coolmist 24/7 and forget about the light and perlite?

I will be checking this thread for sure,I am SUCH an edible newb,I gave up on cubes a while ago (Change in living arrangements and cant grow where I live now) But still want to grow so I'm making the switch to edibles. That picture is more or less the exact set up I will do with the exception that I will be only running a cool mist. What will you be growing in there

O and I'm assuming regardless of what you are growing its still always better to leave the cool mist inside the greenhouse

I have a similar (if not quite as nice) set up, I use a ultrasonic for RH+FAE, thats works out just fine. You'll still need a light for most species.

I will be growing blue oyster, shiitake, enoki, reishi, lions mane, shaggy mane.
I know I would need a light if I keep the greenhouse indoors, but I am considering placing it outdoors, where it would get natural sunlight. I am just unsure about what else would be needed if I put it outside.

Yes. This is exactly what I have, except my greenhouse is made out of PVC pipe covered with painter's tarp. I have my coolmist on 24/7 and it keeps it right around 95% RH. I have lots of holes cut in the plastic walls for FAE.

Awesome, as always, thanks for the info Pitcher! Also, about how many holes did you cut, what size, and how are they arranged? I hate to cut holes into my new greenhouse Also, do you run into any problems with insects, animals, contamination?

I thought oysters were actually one of the faster growing mushrooms... I may be wrong though

Oysters are fast... especially the blue oytsters from sporeworks. I think mine colonized a quart of WBS in something like 5 days from an agar wedge.
I have yet to run into any problems with insects, animals or contams. I have started to do more of my projects outdoors anyway because it greatly reduces the risk of contaminates and often times you don't even need to pasteurize your substrate. For my King Stropharias I just took some mulch, brought it to field capacity and then spawned it with WBS. It tore through the substrate in about a week.
If you decide to do outdoor tubs its a good idea to put a drainage hole in one of the corners, or in a couple of the corners of the container so you can easily drain it after it rains or after you water it. If you wanna dunk later you can always put tape over the holes. Personally I think outdoor growing is the way to go and will probably be doing a lot more of them in the future as I have very limited indoor space.
I cut two 2.5-3" holes per tier on the sides and on the front. Everything I've got in there at the moment seems quite happy although I keep thinking it looks a little wet... so I may cut more. I didn't cut holes where the coolmist blows onto as I found the RH stayed up better if that area was covered. I would start out small by cutting a few holes/flaps per tier and seeing how RH responds and how wet it gets then go from there. Then the next day you can cut more if you see you need to. Monitor with a hygrometer as you go. I wouldn't go crazy on the first go. You could also go with more smaller holes than I did. If I get a chance tomorrow I'll post some pics of what I got going on.

Hello, I have the same mini-green house.
That Chinese green-house is colonizing the world. I bet the brand is Valex
However, using a fan i better for a good gas exchange. If you cannot simply keep opened the zip's.
And keep the humidifier turned on some seconds every 2-4 minutes instead of keeping it turned on 15 minutes every 2-3 hours.
Is difficult to say how to setup everything, you need simply to test!
Let us know! Fabio
ps. and yes you need a light source ( colour 6500 Kelvins ).
