Vent Filters are made of a self-charging electrostatic material that acts as a dust magnet for floor vent registers. Dirt, dust and smoke particles are trapped when air flows through the filter allowing filtered air to pass back into your house. Fits standard size vents.
$3.00 for a package of 12
Vent Filters Trap Airborne Particles At The Room Level Vent Filters Prevent Dirt and Objects From Falling Into Ducts This Trims Easily to Fit 4 In. x 12 In. and Under This Is Ideal For Use In Bedrooms, Bathrooms and Main Living Areas Size : 4"x12"x1/8" Lasts For 90 Days MFG Brand Name : Web MFG Model # : WVENT MFG Part # : WVENT
These things are awesome. So much nicer and cleaner to use than messy poly-fil. Easy to cut. They are real thin so i just double the layer when needed. Find then at your local home depot. I'm assuming lowes would have something similar but I'm not sure.

$3 for 12. $2 for about 1000 jars. You cant really put a number on how many jar lids or tubs you can use polyfil on. Its so cheap, after one use you can start over new. Sometimes I dont. It is a alternative.

I don't really like using polyfil for lids at all. And if you're using polyfil for mono tubs... its only real purpose is to help maintain humidity inside the tub while still allowing a bit of air movement(remove and add as needed for monos).
I wouldn't use those filters you listed for filtering gas exchange for grains or anything any day, ever.

Yup yup yup! I've used this product for this exact application. Sheet poly-fil works quite well - it is often used for aquarium filtering. And, it works great cut into strips and then rolled, and put into tub holes.
Good tip.

You should invest in synthetic filter disks, they might cost you a little extra up front but they last for a long time.
