Kundalini

I have noticed some people here are interested in Kundalini. I have a question for those experienced. First let me describe the phenomena.
I happened to twice raise this tingling ball of energy up my spine, breaking it off both times at my neck because I was afraid to let it come any higher. It rises with the breath
Now what happens to me when I trip, is I get this incredible neck pain when I trip. It is accompanied by the general feeling of the absurdity in karmic existence. Obsession with death; afraid, but it is better described as a general sense of wonder. I feel a conspiracy of death that could come any moment, and it would make perfect sense. Despite this I feel generally good humored; and can really sympathize with others.
I am always open to philosophy, but I am wondering specifically about the neck pain. Does anybody know what I am talking about? Any advice?

I have neck pain sometimes, and the best way to cure it IMO is either by doing yoga or smoking hash.

I too have drawn up my Kundalini energy, and am familiar with the pain and pressure associated with it. I let it raise all the way up though, that is the natural path of it out the top of the head. From what i understand, it si when you try to block it, as you have mentioned you did, then it is caught and will cause pressure, pain, ect. I have also read that, once you have done it once, than its on, and for me this has proven to me true. Now it releases itself all the time, at first it was just when i tripped, than it would come when i just smoked a little bud, now i will be laying in bed and it will come. I have been woked up out of dreams to have that shit shooting up my spine out of my third eye or head. I dont see it stopping anytime soon, it is only getting more intense. I dont fight it, however i understand your fear of letting it up higher, its scarry, earth shattering, life changing, and uncontrolable. My advise would be to research all you can on the topic, because i dont think its over for you. I have been going through it for the past 8-9 months or so, and like i said, for me ther was no forgetting about it, it comes when ever the hell it wants. I have changed as a result, good and bad, good- i feel conected to the divine, more intuitive, i have a real spiritual connection, something that is no longer faith based, it is as tangible as a punch in the face. Though, as i go on, i realize how different i am becoming from othe rpeople, i dont really fit in, cant talk about it with anyone without sounding completly insane, so itsounds like you have began a journey, feel free to contact me with any other questions, although, the process can take many years and i am still in the early stages, and certainly limited in my knowledge and expierence. i have had help here there are a few who have gone though it and will hopefull chime in a well good luck dude.

i forgot to mention more about the pain, i have recently learned how to release extra pressure out of my head, so opening your crown chakra would be your next step, but dotn take that and run with it, it will open more doors than your perhaps ready for, but the pain ive expierencd, and it isnt always in my neck, lots of times in my head, it is always worse soon after i trip, in fact i dont trip anymore because kundalni has taken over last couple times and it seemd i released waaay more than i should at this time. So in a nutshill, the pain will pass, i assume.

Yes I am. My experience with kundalini is brief. Two years go I started getting into yoga. I just saw it as a way to increase flexibility and keep lean muscle. Man was I way off. So last year I started to get this feeling that there is a lot of things that "science" wouldn't acknowledge. As a kid I loved science and it was easy for me to just go and pick up a text book and really understand the concepts not just memorize.
My whole investigation started with health. Why do we get sick? Better yet how can I stop it? I was battling staph infections and severe acne. I also started getting digestive problems. A bunch of stuff, but I'm not gonna go into that. Long story short I realized it was our industrial culture that causes 99% of all our disease. Even genetic disease. If the offspring's parents were to have been healthy to start with then they would have produced healthy gametes. I realized the mind/body connection, and how a sick spirit can create a sick body.
So yeah I thought, why would a society perpetuate everyone's sickness. It's not like I was working these problems out myself. I just discovered them on the internet. So if the info's there, why not use it? This led me to realize the corruption and greed that plagues the US and developed nations. All the so called "conspiracy theories".
Like I mentioned earlier, I had a feeling that I was being lied to in school, by the TV, my parents, everything. Yoga showed me ayurveda and the eastern spirituality. I started studying Chinese, vedic, mayan spirituality. Even some greek philosophy. I discovered that they all have similar underlying concepts. Different names same concepts. Like chi (Chinese), ku'lun (Mayan), prana (vedic). Monad (Greek), dao (Chinese), Brahma (vedic). I could go on all day. Anyways. I realized that the entire universe is god and it is experiencing itself through all of us.
All of what I'm saying is 100% explainable by science it's just the mainstream interpretation wants to mislead people because these ideas are too empowering.
I remember reading about chakras long ago and thinking fuck how on earth can I feel them? Yoga has boosted my awareness and now I can feel them all the time. It's so hard for me to put this in words.
I have to run right now I'll post more later.
BTW, specific questions would be appreciated,, there is so much to tell I don't know where to start and I take for granted that most people haven't developed the framework to plug all this into.
This is hard...

The throat chakra deals with accepting the truth (back of the neck), and speaking the truth (front of the neck). If you get tension in the back of your neck, it could mean there's something about your life, or life in general, that you're not accepting. Just food for thought.

Something to do with that I would guess. As far as advice, use your intuition. I say, take care not to force things. Patience.

Definitely in the back of the neck...
Yea I completely associate the absurd feeling with my neck. I figure its where my mind and body problematically focus. As I begin to come down, both mental and physical problems slowly fade in unison.
Do you have any resources Rahz?

Redgreenvines quoted this a while back, which is from http://www.katinkahesselink.net/tibet/jhana-2.html that should explain your energy ball up the spine.
Quote:
First Jhana
Once Access Concentration has been established, you now induce the next factor of the First Jhana. This third factor is called Piti and is variously translated as delight, euphoria, rapture and ecstasy. By shifting your attention from the meditation subject to a pleasant sensation, particularly a pleasant physical sensation, and doing nothing more than not becoming distracted from the pleasant sensation, you will "automatically" enter the First Jhana. The experience is that the pleasant sensation grows in intensity until it explodes into an unmistakable state of ecstasy. This is Piti, which is primarily a physical experience. Physical pleasure this intense is accompanied by emotional pleasure, and this emotional pleasure is Sukha (joy) which is the fourth factor of the First Jhana. The last factor of the first Jhana is Ekaggata (one-pointedness of mind). Like Sukha, this factor arises without you doing anything, and as long as you remain totally focused on the physical and emotional pleasure, you will remain in the first Jhana.
As far as I have been able to determine, based on my own experience, the entry into the first Jhana from a physiological perspective proceeds something like this:
1. You quiet your mind with the initial and sustained attention to the meditation subject. I suspect that brain wave activity shows a noticable decrease during Access Concentration.
2. By shifting your attention to a pleasant sensation, you set up a positive reinforcement feedback loop within your quiet mind. For example, one of the most useful pleasant sensations to focus on is a smile. The act of smiling generates endorphins, which make you feel good, which makes you smile more, which generates more endorphins, etc.
3. The final and most difficult part of entering the First Jhana is to not do anything but observe the pleasure. Any attempt to increase the pleasure, even any thoughts of wanting to increase the pleasure, interrupt the feedback loop and drop you into a less quiet state of mind. But by doing nothing but focusing intently on the pleasure, you are propelled into an unmistakably altered state of consciousness.
As far as the tension, from a chakra frame, Eastern Body Western Mind, by Anodea Judith has a 50 page chapter devoted to the neck. It's a pretty good book.

OK recipe for kundalini awakening:
-a calm mind that is emotionally proud of what it has physically projected onto the environment and a relaxed, body - there needs to be a one-pointedness of mind. this way the mind observes a good feeling in the body and can maintain focus on it thus creating a positive feed-back loop - have some super foods like macca, spirulina, barley grass, kelp. - adaptogens to keep the mind focused
After doing this and living a balanced food with wholesome foods. absolutely no microwaves, frozen, chemicals, anything out of a package, etc. If you can do that you will feel your chakras. Like when you decide how you want to do a workout that would be intense. You can feel that decision being accepted by your third chakra. The awakening just requires you totally dissolve into it. Just read chapter one of the yoga suttras.
