dunking a rolled cake?
    #9983517 - 03/16/09 05:17 PM (15 years, 16 days ago)

can you dunk a rolled cake? would the verm get soggy or just fall off into the water?

if not, what is the best way to re-hydrate a rolled cake? spray the shit out of it?

I would think the verm would wash off, if there isnt any pins, sprsy it, be4 mine pin i spray the chamber twice a day, but if there is any sign of brown pins dont spray or dunk.

Dunk, but we generally advise against rolling for the second and third flush.  Any contaminant spores that may be stuck to the substrate will be protected by the new verm layer and can lead to an increased risk of contamination.

the damn thing hasnt been pinning... the cake next to it isnt rolled and is fruiting nicely. do rolled cakes take longer to pin? maybe it spends it's energy colonizing the verm layer instead of pinning?

Yeah i call those bastard children and i let them be powdered with spores and thrown out. I normally put a bunch in there anticipating those, If you dunk and it works out well id love to hear about it, it might save my bastard children.

It takes me about a week and a half to 2 weeks to see any pins, that first cake must be the jam.
