they are amino acids I know for a fact that they are used for alkoloid production in cactus . The same probally holds true for mushrooms.

i was just thinking, the shit don't need to be popped to work, it will just colonize quicker that way right?

so any type of seed that pops can be used in the fashion yes? like say bird seed?

how does one pop popcorn, without a popper? perhaps use flax seed oil? does that contaim easily

i like into, i'm just trying to work out the method

Popcorn kernals are solid tough Lil sumbitchs. You want to POP them, for sure. If you plan on adding some to a bulk substrate. Then, pasturize or sterilize that.

Hot air popped is best. No oils to add & you can fill a garbage sack in no time.

You can find hot air poppers at the goodwill or thrift stores for around $3.

Now, if you want to add delayed nutes to a bulk substrate?

Sterilize rapeseed, then add some to a bulk substrate.

Best frigging organic delayed nutes you can get.

Yea, the integument on corn is real tough. However, the hydrolytic enzymes secreted by the fungus should handle it with relative ease. I mean, this fungus can digest LIGNIN dude, and lignin is some serious shit. Us humans haven't even been able to isolate pure lignin. It's designed to be extremely hard to break down. Anyway, a popcorn kernel's seed coat is tough, but thin. Plus, it's a pretty damn good way of keeping bacteria out of those nutrients until the fungus gets there. IMO, throw those kernel's in whole. However, they could make for a good substrate thinner. Try substituting some popcorn for vermiculite in your next heavy batch and see what happens.

Good job 6T, great info.

Here's the thread where popcorn is being used a lot:

Hopefully someone will be posting some results soon.

add the popped compost to a compost pile, let it compost.. and that will add nutes.

Hitler, can you clarify what you mean by:

Quote:

NO TRYP WITH POP!

Just curious. Realrasta - he's not talking about the mushrooms not being active, he's saying there's no tryptophan with pop (?)

Again, please clarify hitler. Thanks.
