They look great. It's nice to see that the caps finally turned golden brown. The pictures from earlier in the process made the caps look unusually white, but I was never worried.
It won't be long now...

Today's Pics There is very thick white fuzz at the base of a couple of the fruit bodies. I believe this to be normal from what I have found using the search tool, but can someone elaborate on this?

YA! Well all of my veils started to break today, so throughout the day I slowly plucked the shrooms from the cakes. Honestly, I was expecting a little more from three cakes, but I cannot be happier just getting to this point Here are some pics of my newborns. Some have been under the fan longer than others.

Couple questions 1. What do I do now? Do I wait a couple days and dunk, then back to the FC? Or do I dunk now, or not at all? Should I re-roll?
2. I have these babies sitting in front of a fan right now, and I am buying some desiccant tonight. How long should I fan them before placing them in a tupperware dish with DampRid?
Thanks guys
Super happy! Cant wait to enjoy my creation!

Dunk 12 hours, don't roll.

Well after dunking for twelve or so hours, I popped them back in the FC.
Two of the three cakes are pumping out fair amounts of soon-to-be fruits, but one of the three cakes has nothing. No pins or anything. Do you think something went wrong? I am going to leave it in there and use my patience as key, the hardest part of mycology I have found Here are some pictures. I have surrounded my FC with dark paper so light can only come through the plexi-glass top and fruits will grow upward instead of outward. Any tips anyone?

Just wondering why not to roll after dunking?

Well darn after seeing that I think a roll might come in handy! So should I dunk and roll after the second flush? I only dunked between first and second.

You should dunk between each flush.

Me, I dunk and roll after every flush, but thats just me.

I tried and tested a few methods, this is what works for me. We must all try different things, as we will all get various results.

Semi-related question:
Hyphal knots will form as a precursor to pins, so it should be fairly obvious if no pins are going to form on the top of one's cake.
So, would it be advisable, assuming there are no hyphal knots when fruits begin to grown and mature, to flip one's cake to maximize light exposure for the pins that are forming or have formed?

No. There's no reason to "maximize" light exposure. If the substrate gets light on one surface, it can pin from any surface. Anyway light is merely a secondary pinning trigger.
The #1 primary pinning trigger is fresh air. #2 is humidity. Also the moisture content of the substrate affects it, if the substrate is too dry it cannot produce fruits. Thus the substrate is usually dunked between each flush.
Introduce fresh air exchange to your cakes, maintain >95% humidity, dunk between flushes. Fan & mist several times a day. If this won't get your cakes pinning then something is wrong with them.

UPDATE: As of now, the second flush is complete for the cakes. The third cake shows no signs of making any progress since the end of the first flush. I have the two good cakes dunking in the fridge, and will roll them tomorrow. I will take a picture of my dried harvest from flush number two, only from two cakes obviously. I am not getting good results at all, however. After two flushes from three cakes I have gotten about 6-7 grams dried. Fruits are small it seems. I guess I need some practice. I must take into consideration that I am not home, so I am growing under somewhat stealthy circumstances, but I have been fanning upward of 6 times a day, with a fluorescent light on them about 12 hours a day. Temp is about 73 consistently and RH is anywhere from 93-100% at all times. What does everyone think?

Here is the full second flush. They still need more time in front of the fan and in the desiccant chamber, some more than others.
Use the quarter for a reference. Not real pleasing.

Well here are the results. First flush from 3 cakes, about 5 grams dried. 2nd flush from only 2 cakes, about 3 grams dried. 3rd flush, only one cake left, There was a nice sized fruit and a smaller one from the remaining cake. I picked and they are drying at the moment, I am guessing they will end up around 1 to 1.5 grams dried. I do believe the bigger fruit body had bacterial blotch, for it was slimy looking and had a little discolored spot. Here is a picture. There was a piece of verm that landed on the cap before the picture, that is what that dot is.

It is currently drying, but I am unsure whether to just toss it or not. I know that the bacteria dies when dried, so I will probably end up eating it.
The remaining cake was dunked overnight and is back in the FC going for flush number four!
LMK what you think everybody!
