First I would like to thank everyone here at the shroomery. You all are a very friendly and helpful bunch.
I am posting this message for two reasons:
1. To announce that I just completed my first cultivation! (thanks to yor help!) 2. To possibly inspire some people interested in trying a culitvation to go ahead and try.
Well I just harvested my first flush of Puerto Rican's tonight. I do not have a scale to weigh the harvest but I have 8 cakes (PF tek, except subbing 1/2 the BRF with Millet flour) with anywhere from 12-15 mushrooms per cake, ranging from 3-4" for a total of about 100 (3-4") shrooms. I only have a web cam so I am waring you this pic is going to be horrible (also I had to make it a close up cause it gets real blurry from far away.
This did not take as much effort as I thought nor as much time. (Innoculated 9/24/02)
I thought I had messed up soo many times that all I would grow was contaminates if anything at all. First off finding that I did not have any measuring cups, only measuring spoons.. so i had to try to convert it all out to tablespoons! So I didn't think the mixture was right. Then my temps kept fluxing during incubation (lousy cheap insulation) I almost cooked them one hot day during fruiting cause at the time the light I was using got pretty hot and well... I forgot and left it on. Blah blah blah.... Long story short... It is amasing how resilient mushrooms really are. You should really give them a try. Just follow the Tek's and you will do fine!
I will be trying them out in the next few days so maybe look for a trip report in the OTD forum if you are interested in the potency of PR's.
It was an extremely educational experience and I am well underway with my next phase (grains and bulk substrates). Once again thanks to everyone for all your informative posts.
Also if this is in the wrong forum I appaulogize and please move it to the correst one for me.

You will probably want to get a scale so you can measure out your dose.

the first shrooms are a surprise, a little (or not so little) dream that comes true. to me, it was like 'i really wish it will show up' and then it came as a gift.
congrats
