Newbe with an idea.

I was thinkin about watering and the chances of contam's..... Just to let u know iv never grown succesfuly. i only tired once and i didnt try very hard. Anyway i thought that instead of spraying couldnt u have a water line dirrectly hooked up to the centre of the cakes so it would water from the inside to keep the substrate moist.

So am i cracked out or is this a reasonable idea????

Nah, its called the resivoir tek. Well a little different, but the same idea. In the resivoir tek, there is a hole in the middle of the cake, a resivoir if you will, that is filled with water every so often (I don't know the specifics, never tried it.) Just wanted to let you know you aren't crazy, do a search and see whats up.

if you have some way to measure out small doses of water to each cake at regular intervals, this would probably work fine but you don't want a constant supply of water running into your cakes. sorry, that should be a big IF. i'd say possible yes, reasonable no.

I think that the idea came from the pf website. There is a picture that was goin around that had a lot of cakes on a screen all with half of the big ass arbys straws stuck in the middle and filled with water. I tried it and the cakes seemed to like it. You just add water when its getting low. It seems that the cake only takes water when it needs it. The bad thing about this is it is a GREAT way to introduce contams, and towards the later flushes, you will prolly end up losing some cakes. If you try it out i suggest using a h20/h2o2 solution.

why not just use a straw. you cut out a piece of the cake stick in a straw and there ya go. I never tried this but seen some pics around here using straws, fruits seemed a nice size but that could have been anything.
