Hey guys, Looking for Hiking Boots (Keen, Vasque

And when I say hiking, I mean several+ days.
I've been looking at some shoes for the past month but when I go in to try them out, I find them to be narrow. ah, I have wide feet or my arches or falling. whatever, however you want to look at it.
I've been stuck with some shitty nikes (mostly bc I get them for free) that are killing my feet, so the price of the shoe isn't going to be too much a big deal. well, I'm thinking <$180
Before I post links of shoes, I tried on Vasques and they're outrageously comfy. Omg, like everything one could think of to improve on a shoe, they did it. Just wow. I tried a narrow or a normal width and have found a wider model online, so this is an immense possibility.

I tried on some Keens and whatever they did with their insoles is amazing. It's so comfortable and literally cradles my feet as if rocking them to bed. Problem, I've seen some reviews talking about how their boot doesn't necessarily breath and will get/stay moist. So this causes some consternation on my part.
in particular, here's the boot http://www.altrec.com/keen/mens-oregon-pct-hiking-boot
I tried some Hi-Tec shoes and they were great, but nothing comparable to the Vasques.
New balance even makes a shoe... http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/42717292/c/6.html
I should've kept this post short and sweet, but does anyone have an opinion on hiking boots? I've done plenty of day hikes in my nikes but feel I need something a bit sturdier, durable, and drier when encountering water.
Does anyone have experience with the keens or Vasque?

Just this past summer I finally wore out a pair of Vasques that I've had for about 10 years. They saw more miles and more places then I could list. They were the most comfortable item of footwear I've ever owned in my life. I still have them, and they're still comfy as hell, but the hole in the sole tells me they are done! I'll definitely be buying another pair.

yeh, I'm on my second pair of vasque shoes. they're light and very comfortable. got a pair last spring and probably put at least 80-100 miles on em since, they're still in decent shape, and I'm rough on shoes. never had a problem with blisters or anything on several 15+ mile days last year, awesome. picked up a pair of the mantra GTX for fall/spring hiking a little while back but haven't used em much yet.
never tried their boots, but if I was in the market for some I would have no problem dropping cash on a pair to give them a shot...

I will third the Vasque recommendation. Solid comfortable hiking boots. The only boots I would recommend above those would be Raichle.. more pricey but they make some brutal boots.
