Fruit cakes or case them? Opinions?
    #9930554 - 03/07/09 08:25 PM (15 years, 24 days ago)

I use quart jars of rye and half pint jars of brf.  The terrarium is a martha stewart full auto with ultrasonic and cool mist.

Right now I have 12 fully colonized brf jars.  I had decent results fruiting them as straight dunked cakes.  Just about equal results when I spawn 4 cakes to straw/poo.  Example of a martha stewart terrarium cake both below:

What do you think...?  Is it worth the extra effort to case with straw/poo?  Or just drop them in the terrarium after a 24 hour dunk?

I'm trying out everything uncased right now to see if I get better times!! but will most likely add a casing layer after 3rd or 4th flush??
