Reports on this topic vary... some people say definately and swear by Vitamin C saying it increases visuals. Other people think it is bullshit.
I personally think it is a person-to-person phenomena... If you trip enough you might want to try tripping once w/ C and once w/o C. Most people who think it works take high doses of Vitamin C about 30 minutes beforehand. There is some evidence that C might work. But even if it doesn't, it'll keep you from getting scurvy.
