The color of pins...

From what i have deduced from searching the forums, if a pin is light in color from the base to about halfway up, then darker and more saturated looking from halfway up to the head, this indicates that the casing is a bit dry and the humidity of the air is a bit high.

Is this accurate or is the color of the pin as I have described it normal.

I have dropped the humidity in my terrarium. The casing surface does appear slightly dry. I don't want to spray the pins. Should i shoot some water into my casings with a syringe. Casings are 50/50+ on top for both. One is 50/50+ plus on bottom and the other is pearlite in bottom. Substrate is PF cakes. Casings have been pinning for about 2 days now. (Yipi Lai)

Any suggestions or comments are much appreciated.
