A truth I have come to accept
    #9914695 - 03/05/09 01:30 AM (15 years, 1 month ago)

After having just about my fill of political and conspiracy talk, both here and every where else, I think I have finally come to accept what somebody said on here (he or she may have been quoting, I'm not sure) a while back that struck me as rather funny, and now I just take it as truth.

To paraphrase, "The scary thing isn't that Bush brought down the towers or the Obama is a communist playing his part to destroy our economy so that we will all accept the chip. No the scariest thing about these guys, and all of the others, the bankers and politicians the rest of them, is that this is the BEST they can do. They aren't running some elaborate schemes that need to be explained with huge stories, they just suck.  And we keep putting them in power".

Yep. That's a lot closer to the truth than any 'conspiracy theory.' No one is operating this train; and it's gaining momentum, veering off the tracks.

Though, I don't think political and financial leaders are putting their 'BEST' efforts into bettering humankind; they're trying their best to pad their wallets, meet the status quo, and safeguard their respective positions.

I know about Ron Paul. We are on the internet after all.

He definitely seems like an exception as far as politicians are concerned. But honesty and policies that work are two very different things.

He had radical plans for the government if he were to be elected. Radical is probably a huge understatement: America would have been a completely different nation under his leadership, if he were to follow through with his promises.

Who knows if his policies would have worked. I think it's too late now, too late even for another shot at election. He's already nearing his deathbed, so retirement can't be far off. And considering the current political system in America, Ron Paul has zero chance of swaying the states without the mainstream media at his back.

 Yeah it is pretty sad (and true) when you think about it that way. The problem is we elect politicians, not problem solvers (A vague term, but politics encompasses too many subjects). I've heard people use this reasoning for Ron Paul saying "he's an economist, not a politician," but I'm not convinced. I mean, he may do a good job if elected, but I disagree with a number of his views. Really though, I just find people posting Ron Paul crap annoying because we all know he won't be elected (No offense AmericanPsycho. Your avatar still makes you cool ).

When I started college I majored in business because I wanted to make money. Then I realized I hated it and was interested in politics so I went into PoliSci. Then I realized that I loved bullshitting people, and I enjoy politics, but mixing the two just made me feel dirty so I went back to marketing. My point being we don't elect politicians, we elect people who sell us politics. And while I love to debate and discuss politics, I'd rather not be a part of the steaming pile that our election system has become. (Actually that story may have been irrelevant, but hopefully someone understood what I meant to say. It's late :undecided:)

What if someone gave him a few hundered million?  Would that increase his chances?

I'm desperate for him to be president!  Everyone knows he wanted radical changes and it might work or might not and I guess most people are too scared of that.

Best thing about him though is an end to the drug war :yesnod:

Ron Paul still has a better chance than Sarah Palin though.  This country will have lost their minds if they elect her

i respect Ron Paul and his opinions, observations and principles. they align quite well with my own.

even in my short time on this earth (and in america) i am beginning to not recognize america anymore. i think if it keeps going much further down the road it is now, we need to call it by a different name, at least it would be correct in its nature at that point.

Good politicans don't exist.  To get elected, you must sell out - it's the only way.  How Ron Paul got into congress must've been a fluke
