A short film

A friend and I decided to make this a few weekends ago after an interesting trip. She came up with the idea, I wrote the script, we shot it together, and her boyfriend edited. It's just a little amateur experiment, but I really enjoyed making it. The acting isn't so great in parts, but it was a pretty spontaneous thing and they happened to be around at the time.
If anyone wants to watch it and tell me what they think, I'd really appreciate it.

Gets a big from me. I love to see people get creative and amateur film making is an awesome way to do so. I thought it was well put together and edited. Don't let the critics bother you, just keep doing more shorts like that.

I actually really enjoyed that! Most specifically the narrative parts, the way its kinda this fairytale type story, that with the animation stuff was really cool. I think it definitely had a lot of character to it, which can be difficult when you're running really low budget stuff.
The only real gripe I can think of is I think the whole thing should have been done in that 3rd person style, but regardless I really liked it.
edit: also, blazers just being a dick because thats easy to do on the internet. I'd like to see him come up with anything creative. Keep creating!

Wow you must be like, 13. I've never seen the need to ignore someone untill now, because you are just making yourself sound like an obnoxious idiot.

that was quite interesting. i didn't see the ending coming. good use of music too, like the backwards track played while he's lost to emphasize the feeling of disorientation.
it was entertaining and cute. and i like the narration a lot. it's not like a great work of art, but it's a pretty cool little project. i commend you.

i wouldn't say science of sleep specifically, but just Michel Gondry in general definitely seemed to be a point of inspiration.

It's done in a similar style I suppose, but it wasn't really influenced by the science of sleep. I do love that movie though... We shot a good bit of it in this junkyard and there were so many cool things around, we wanted to incorporate them somehow. So we just decided to do some stop animation. The paper ones were added later as an afterthought.

paper figure stop-motion is usually pretty nifty. i kinda wished there was more than that super short bit included.

Criticism:
Experiment with angles, think of it as moving photography.
Slow it down a bit, the story seems surreal so add that timeless feeling to it.
In the editing try to change the color and contrast.
Keep on filming though, I like the style.

Haha, this is cute.
I like the animation portions quite a bit. It drags at some parts and the male actor was a little stiff, but it made me chuckle and added to the cute fairy tale quality of this movie.
Keep up the good work!

Reminded me of a modern day fairy tale, except not so predictable. I really enjoyed the animations throughout the movie too.
Just get better actors next time.

It could have done without the actors speaking. I think if it was solely narration, it would have been way better. The two actors are horrible voice-actors. haha...
I liked it though.
