i hope this is P.semilanceata!
    #988659 - 10/24/02 03:03 AM (21 years, 3 months ago)

hi guys,
found this growing close to my college yesterday... funny, i thought i wud have to go hunting to a far away field, but here they were after the rains!!!
i think it is P.sem, no veil, but no prominent nipples either. found growing in longish grass , scattered shrooms, in diff stages of growth. were found where some manure + straw had been put ot make the grass grow better.
they got damaged as i didnt have any suitable containers so i had to carry them in a cigarette box. i know, i know, not the right way but what else could i do? i had to pick them befor epeople trod all over them. also, i was well paranoid due to it being in front of the main office of my college, all my profs windows were overlooking the lawn.
anyways, please do help me id these if you guys can...
a cap is printing as we speak.
peace all
ds

sorry for the bad pics n damaged shrooms...):

Those URLs are not directed to the images but to the html page containning the images. You should open the page, click with the right button, properties and choose the URL in the dialogue box. I don't know if overgrow lets you direct the images, i'll try the first pic,

not semies. sorry. a few of those look cool though. judging by your collection i'd say you need to familiarize yourself with the species a bit more.

i see some bluing on a stem in the last picture on the first post. you may have an active mushroom in there but wait for a positive ID.

yeah youre right i do need to familiarize myself more with the species. i saw them and got a bit carried away. just got stamets' psilocybin mushrooms of the world. also have been checking out a lot of P.sem pictures and descriptions on the web. you guys are right... there was no bluing reaction on the shrooms, which is what first made me think that these arent P.sem. the spore print is a dirty light brown colour, dont know how to describe it better, but have a pic and will put it up out of interest on monday.
thanks a lot guys
peace
