I prep my rye and wbs exactly the same except for removing floaters from the wbs.

You know you need to turn the heat down once that thing starts rocking right? ;-D

what makes you prefer rye over wbs?

Seems that the water content is easier to achieve with rye. Plus WBS was just a little trickier for me. And yes, even in my klono haze i managed to turn down the PC to 5. I'll post some pics of the 12 trays I just moved into fruiting today, need to find some batteries.

That's pro, i was thinking of building a setup kind of like that, but vertical trays and only the front is see through.  kind of like if that were a black container with a clear lid, turn the lid towards the camera.  Stacked to the roof.

I mist and then rotate the top tote down one spot and bring the bottom tote to the top every three hours during the day. The base tote has properly moistened perlite in it. I plan on adding wax paper tomorrow. My trays have always performed best uncased. And once they start pinning, I take them out of the trays. Under and side pinning are my friends.

A 50lb bag of WBS costs me like $12. Rye is cool and all but it's harder to find and costs more.  Plus nobody looks at me funny when I walk into pet smart and buy a shit load of bird food and a couple bricks of coir :-D

Oh, he's just got pets and must like birds.

I live in cattle country so bulk grains are cheap as hell here. Spending a little more on the grain to ease some of my personal frustration is totally worth it to me. Different Strokes for Different Folks

ok so you have a shotgun on the bottom?

are there holes in the upper tubs so the humid air wicks up thru them(dont know if thats correct terminology)

and that shotgun isnt getting its full potential sitting with its bottom on the floor?

if thats all wrong could you explain ur setup

Its a shotgun on the bottom. The other tubs have full panels cut out of the bottoms and tops with racks running across the bottom for the trays to rest on. With the trays and racks removed it would basically be an empty space. Modular Martha if you will.

ur getting 95% all the way at the top bin too?

maybe filling the entire bottom shotgun ALL the way with perlite might make that set up PERFECT.

the bottom shotgun is almost all the way full. Not to wet either. And yes, I get 95% all the way to the top. Its the perlite combined with the sheer volume of trays. I'll post a pic of the sensor in the top bin in a moment.

Room Ambient

Sensor in top tub. It was only in for a few minutes. Right now it reads 92.5. I figure tote rotation, misting, and wax paper should have me set. I've done it this way before. Just never as tall.

:hi5:

i really like ur setup.

last question...for now

is there a reason you dont have it lifted off the ground. i think that air flow thru the bottom is key in the shotguns design

It seems to wick alright as it is. Plus these should be the last 12 trays in this setup before i get my greenhouse up. Its kinda R&D for my controller. (in know RR, i'm gonna switch to timers before too long)
