Alan was apparently speaking to the "cat guy" who he quoted and banned from posting in the forum for 30 days.

I assume you are joking about eating them, since Bolbitius vitellinus would not taste like much at all.

Oh, and another thing- do NOT eat wild, edible mushrooms RAW.  Many are only edible after cooking.

Well they did taste rather bland come to think of it. That other cat guy was very eccentric to say the least. Maybe too many shrooms, who knows. I was okay with him but I see what you guys mean.

If that had been a poisonous mushroom and you had been dull enough to take his advice, then you might understand our intolerance.

Just eat em, as long as you don't live you will trip.

Please do not tell people to eat mushrooms when you don't know what they are.  These are Bolbitius vittelinus, they are not toxic and they will not make you trip.  Come back in 30 days when your forum ban expires if you want to learn how to ID mushrooms.

There are two trips no mushroomer should experience, one to the morgue and the other to the emergency room.  We're here to help people, not harm them.
