Timing a PE mutant flush

I've got 3 qts WBS from PE MS. Spawned to 6qts coir 1pint gypsum in a 16qt 'dubtub' @ 3.5 inch sub depth...
My first flush is ALL mutants, likes these:
Big ol' mutant (mine are smaller)
Mine are much like this
And these are actually my tub, now that I got off my lazy ass and took some pics:

EDIT: ^^^^^^ =
So, PE is hard enough to figure out when to harvest (especially since it's my first strain and grow) let alone when they are all monkey nuts...
I'm confident I can harvest, dunk, and get a good second flush, but my question is: When?
Thanks for any help guys

You're right, it is difficult to figure out when to pick PE, even when they're "normal".
With the odd fruitbodies, you basically have to keep a close eye on them, and pick them when they stop growing.
Here are a couple of pictures of my PE taken 24 hours apart. Notice the lack of growth, especially with the larger fruitbodies. They were picked right after the second picture. It will be even more difficult to determine with those strangely shaped mushrooms.

There's one thing I have noticed, and is apparent in your pics; PE fruits are NOT afraid to start bruising around the annulus and cap when they're done growing
Maybe I'll wait for a little bruising...

yes. if you see any of the fruits going south, the rest are probably behind it so pick when you see a few going blue under the cap.

I had pics of when to pick PE fruit, but I just deleted them yesterday. It had instructions too. I'll have to find them for you.

I'm not sure if I am referring to the pics you posted a week or so back ronjohn, but good advice on when to pick PE is when just below the cap starts to bulge out and get very wrinkley looking. Sure could have used that advice my first PE grow, all my pins had no veils at about half an inch out of the casing, those were tricky flushes to time!

Once a couple starts bruising under or on the cap, pick them all.

Yeah those were the ones. I don't think I have them anymore. I might make new ones if I get the free time.

Okay... I appreciate the advice regarding when to pick PE... but this is supposed to be,
"When to pick an entire flush of dense myc balls 'monkey nuts' (ala P.Menace)"
I'll just break down and post an actual pic of what my tub looks like.... Although there is one semi mushroom-resembling fruit which perhaps I will use as my gauge

No way in hell does that look like mold. That's horrible advise. That's most definitely PE mutations. I'm assuming from a multispore source? In any case that sucks balls man. I'm had a tub full of that shit two weeks ago. I picked a QO of mutations and aborts out of that tub. I try to pick those aggressively. It took 4 days to get rid of mine. Usually you'll see some nice fruits after those things are picked out of the tub. You have to be aggressive about it. Other wise they just take up good pinning space and moisture from the sub. That could be given to other fruits. Also tons of FAE and a high humidity does nothing to deter those mutations. The best thing you can do is grow from clones or isolates from now on. My last tub (a cloned LC source) I picked had a damn near 100% success rate for pins turning into fruits.

if all you have is monkey nuts, you can tell when a fruit is ready by touch. young fruits are firm, but right when they get over the hill so to speak, they begin to get squishy, on the way to rotten. once a couple go squishy, pick them all.

There were definitely a couple squishies, and the regular fruitbodies were starting to bruise... so I harvested:

100 grams of them....

My girlfriend is sampling them... while I dunk it...

Btw ^^ that is not WBS, those are just little bastards I didn't feel like scratching into... I also skimmed off another 15 grams of floaters during the dunk...
Wish me a semi-normal second flush..... although, I dunno, these might be kinda cool.
I believe my LC has homogenized into these genetics... We'll see when another tub I Have starts to fruit...

i had a PE mutant that was just a huge cap no stem. i just pick them when the cap either begins to open or a ring of blue or green begins around the cap or when they start to get dark but some will continue to grow after darkening, their deceptive its up to you to be corrective.

I often get the caps with no stems. Those are my norms. They aren't very potent.
I've also had a mushroom grow cap side down and stem up. Very fucking weird.
