Big fat pins growing
    #988512 - 10/24/02 01:18 AM (21 years, 5 months ago)

I've gone thru the layers of fear and worry about whether the little buggers would ever fruit and now, what do I see before me but pins, and not just pins but serious pins.

This post is really for people in similar situations. I started on the 24th of September and now on the 24th of October I am seeing the fruit of my labor come to be. The moral? Be patient. Try dunking if you can't be completely patient. But be patient.

For those who wanna know my set up -
I got a ten gallon aquarium($18) with a screen top($8). I used wire cutters to work two holes in the top for my two fresh air tubes to go thru which both come from my fish tank bubbler($12). I placed the entire humidifier (it has the perfect dimensions for my tank and it was free from a friend) in my terrarium and laid a towel over the top (cut holes in towel for air lines). I run the humidifier in the mornings till I see medium condensation then I turn it off for six hours or so (work and school and stuff). Then I come home and turn it on for about 30 minutes. Then I turn it on again for another thirty minutes b4 I go to bed. BTW, the towel seems to do a good job of preventing condensation drip from the ceiling (I.E. no "drip shield" needed). I bought a three dollar thermometer which keeps good temp (about 72 degrees F all the time). For light I used one of my many desk lamps and painted the bulb with a thin layer of blue acrylic paint (I know, probably over kill but everyone is always talking about light with blue in it, so I figured, whats better for that than a blue light). But of course, I don't have a regimen for using the light, I just figure the shroomies will learn where to go from the minutes of light I give them, and lo, they are going straight up so I guess I was right.

Hopefully I am not shaming anyone on these boards by saying, thank you guys for without you guys I wouldn't have a set up I am confident in.

That's not cool to be a dick, but you are right, 7 weeks is not all that fast, you could shave at least two weeks off if you incubated.

If you think that 7 weeks was fast, I am honestly jealous of how you will feel when you grow some under par.
