I have been making some very healthy soup. If you want the benefits of ganoderma and don't like the taste put them in a 16 bean soup. The 16 bean soup is good for you by its self. You can google and use any recipe you like and add ganoderma. Its great because the soup has to simmer for three hours and masks the taste of the ganoderma.I make mine spicy and i love the taste. You can freeze half and have a bowl every day.Good stuff.

Beans, beans. The musical fruit. (Seed, actually.)
I've been thinking about this a lot lately. Fresh reishi has an incredibly interesting and complex aroma. If only there was some way to infuse foods with this essence while removing the bitterness...
What about alcohol extraction? Using dried ganoderma fruits in the place of smoking chips with fish, chicken or pork? I don't think there would be medical benefits to reishi smoke, but it could add a really interesting dimension to things.

Alcohol extracts the bitterness as well. My guess is that the bitterness is the part that's good for you. The best way is to just cover it up with something. We eat a lot of bitter foods. Dandelion greens are terribly bitter by themselves, but mixed in with other greens, they add a refreshing bite to a meal. Seems to me that coffee would completely cover the taste but I have yet to try that. I'm actually starting to get used to the bitter taste.

I make my Ganoderma teas with a handful of pineapple chamomile buds thrown in at the last few minutes and a drop of honey. It seems to mask the taste of the Reishi almost completely (or at least to my adjusted palette) but artist conks are another story

It's usually the bitter constituents that confer the health benefits.
But I'm not opposed to adding alcohol.
