Why did you spawn a jar that wasn't 100% colonized?

I have several pint jars and quarts. I inoculated in pairs of two. Two of the jars, innocd. with b+ from RS, developed muchhh faster than the others. One of which was fully colonized and trying to break out the jar:shocked:  The second, albeit the same strain, is 95-99%.

To begin a cycle(SOS?). I decided to take advantage of the fully colonized jar and make a mini tray, actually two. So, I didn't spawn an underdeveloped jar.

You can use jars that arent completely colonized. Ive done it a million times. Just dump it out, scrape off the uncolonized portions with a clean knife .... and spawn or fruit like you would normally.

Done it with BRF, wbs, millet ... pretty much anything and never had a contam from it. Ive even dumped out a quart at 40%, scraped off the uncolonized portions then did g2g with the colonized parts into other fresh jars ... all successfully (in a glovebox).

The second pint was fully colonized today so I decided to make two more trays. Unfortunately, I dropped it :mad2:.  The only thing that survived the fall itself was the cake, very minimal damage. So instead of risking contamination of the bulk substrate I did dunk n'roll and set it in 70 ish degree tub with perlite. Hope it starts pinning soon so I can throw some pics up!

Several rites have stated the insignifigance of humidity since jars are basically self contained.

I'm not sure I'm correct but it seems to me that humidity may be fairly important to mycellial growth. Albeit this being my first attemp, going very well so far.

I noticed a stall in all but two jars 2-2.5 days ago, maybe 1.5 I'm not in the backtracking mood. The other night I added two mini trays to incubation poorly ventilated, due to puncturing seran wrap with a pin. This afternoon I corrected the issue with the trays by using a nail and scissor point. All jars jumped to around 75-85%, the quarts had the most progression. I made no changes to the settings, other than the addition of two trays with xtra moisture. Could the raised humidity, from the trays, have caused this rapid progression?

MHM me like WBS spawned to POO. First signs of rhizo growth started today, which wasn't apparent in the jars!! I'll put the porn up when there's a bit more growth...

For a lil experiment I decided to make some BRF jars just to compare colonization times, and labled this time. Used the same strains as the first time -PF classic, since I'm curious as to which one had such rapid growth. I also added a few extra's equadorian, illusion weaver, reality bender, and PE :mushroom2:

This jar seems to be having a bit of trouble fully colonizing, due to the increased humidity when then mini bulk subs were introduced. Should I just spawn to poo and remove any uncolinized portions?

There appears to be normal growth on both mini trays...  So I guess another 3-5 days and it'll be ready.

I have noticed that if you mix a little bit of verm in with your wbs, you don't have near as many problems with it colonizing and it breaks apart much easier.  And yes fingers of myc is always a good thing.  You should be getting some pins soon.

  I actually had no problems with WBS, so far. This is a first for me and I decided to go for the WBS jars. If anything they colonized tooo FAST! I wasn't prepared at all... Honestly, I didn't even think it would grow since the spores had been refrigerated for awhile.

I noc'd up BRF jars as well, just to compare. I've found they are wayyyy slower and a bit more messy. They may work well once birthed though, but only one(B+) has shown signs of strong rhizo growth.

Kinda crucial...

The jar I dropped has fruited fairly small mush and two veils have broken. Should I wait for the rest to catch up or harvest now and begin the next flush?

Time to munch down the 1st n 2nd flush off the busted cake!??! Grape fruit juice for the wash on the 8ish hour fast.

Would a sauna induce a faster/more intense trip...I started hallucinating in there after I smoked a lil.
