OK heres some pics of one of my colonizing popcorn jars,there's 4 in all and were inoculated with some honey water that i had made with a extra cc or 2 of some john Allen,anyway i know its old and a outdated tek but it seems to be doing pretty good,what do u think ?what would be a good casing for them ?   
as you might see some tips of corn are sorta burnt they've been thier i pressure cooked them

Are you planning on on spawning them onto a bulk substrate and then casing them? Or are you just going to case the colonized corn?
I'd recommend making those guys become close friends with some horse dooders and then casing with 50/50 (peat/vermiculite) + gypsum and crushed oyster shells.

yea thats what i was wondering last night i was so stoned and when i read dooders i couldn't help myself but to  anyway thats what i was wondering Ive never used horse shit,and would have no clue where to find

yea its pretty easy,but i inoculated with some honey water with some fair growth in it !
just search popcorn tek under mushroom info !

Nice work on getting it to not contaminate.
Definitely not trying to knock on you, m08, but popcorn is one of the shittiest grains to use for spawn. Fewer inoculation points when spawning than WBS or rye, far more prone to contaminate, not much cheaper than WBS, etc.

As far as acquiring Hpoo are there any stables or horses in you're area -most of them will gladly let you gather some hpoo if you tell them it's for you're new garden bed or something. You want to look for the oldest piles in the field bleached out and dried or if kept in a pile the stuff around the edges. If this is not an option some of the shroomery vender's sell compost mix and maybe poo this will work just as well if not better!! If you get you're own hpoo you might need to leech it and definitely pasteurize it.I know by looking at you're jars you don't really have much time to get this stuff together so maybe look up black cow they sell it at Lowe's and I've heard of people using it successfully. hope this helps a little....e

I've used Black Kow before. It's great for gardens - terrible for growing mushrooms. It's too compacted - cow shit has the wrong consistency and texture for mycology.
My gal pal's parents just bought a farm (literally) and have a half-dozen horses.  While everyone isn't as lucky as I am, you should definitely be able to find someone willing to let you grab some horse shit outside of town.
I posted an ad on CraigsList looking for horse manure and got 10+ replies - you just have to make sure to collect from a pile that isn't loaded with cedar chips,

Mushrooms grow great on cow manure that's been weathered out in a field and mixed into the dirt. Commercial BLACK KOW MANURE sucks for cultivation purposes. I didn't say it wouldn't work - I just said that horse manure is a lot better.
Horse manure has a much better texture for home cultivation. It's a lot 'looser', which means mycelium will rip through it like a fat kid at a buffet.

well i say the BLACK KOW MANURE is great for cultivation purposes
i would just mix it ( just like i would any manure field, or black kow) with star and verm
shit is shit and the type of shit dose not effect yields.

wow ! I wasn't expecting so many replies while i was gone.i don't feel like anyone is  me lol ! but i wasn't thinking when i said where to get some horse  .at my grandmothers the next door neighbor has a shit load and i mean alot of horses,Clydesdale's,miniature's,so on so forth.its pretty cold where i am and were expecting some snow.anyway i guess i could go ask for some they seem like good people  plus we've known them for years.is there gonna be any shit i don't want ?

ya it said to get some that was sitting in the hot summer months, but the problem is its winter.is there any other casing maybe 50/50 coir verm.i didnt even think id work to be honest with you but its deffinitly faster the my brf cakes

Black kow was used successfully by blue lou i believe in his outdoor grows. But I seem to remember him stating that it was very dependent on your region as to the quality....
and as for popcorn, it's been treating me fine for the past 2 years or so, easier to manage than WBS, which I've been playing with for a month or two now.

yea,i really like it it showed signs pretty quick using the honey water tek,but i don't think I'm gonna be using ,ill do some research and see what i can come up with maybe ill just fuck around.by the way how long will honey water be viable ?

when i used popcorn i used multispore, first signs of growth were after 3 days and i sterilized by boiling them. 100% colonization in 2 weeks
