Does light break down psylocybin

We all know that heat destroys the psylocybin. Does light break down psylocybin like it does to LSD(especially UV lights)? I'm fan drying my harvest right now, and it's not dark, just wondering if it needs to be.

Specimens collected in the wild of Psilocybe Cubensis are usually not as potent as specimens which are cultivated. Part of this is attributed to overexposure to UV rays. As long as drying mushrooms are kept away from prolonged exposure to intense direct sunlight there should be no noticeble reduction of potency. In general, psilocybin is relatively stable (although, psilocin breaks down fairly rapidly as a result of more mild environmental stress).

Does that mean mushrooms grown in 20 minutes of light more potent than mushrooms getting 12 hours?

I don't think it matters when they're growing because degradation is not really an issue during growth, only during storage. But if it does, I agree iwth poopman, it's probably not even going to make a difference.

I'll back up the responses above of UV rays and oxidation from exposure to air as the main reasons psilocybin and psilocin are ?broken down?.

alright i too have a question. when storing dry shrooms should they be in an airtight bag? or does it really matter. someone mentioned somethin about light, then air breaking down the active chemical. to dry em i had em in the open on this sheet in front of the light a lot too so im worried they lost a lot of potency.

It seems like this might be worth some more investigation.  Many molds and their spores are not very resistant to UV.  If it isn't going to affect the quality of your mushrooms, a high-UV reptile light in your grow chamber.
