Anyone ever heard of 'Topicana Twisters'? One of the flavors you can get is 'Wild Strawberry Dragonfruit'...it's pretty good.

Cactus fruit from Vietnam related to epiphyllum.
Epiphyllum are called orchid cactus because of the
large and impressive flowers. Some epiphyllum will
bear fruit with cross pollination. Pitahaya is the
Spainish name for the fruiting vines from tropical
Central America. The vine usually has 3 ribs cross-
section. The plant was imported to Vietnam. The
pitahaya will cross pollenate with the epiphyllum.
The thornless dragon fruit is a bit like the kiwi
and can weight up to 3 pounds

It's really pretty. Have you ever seen a star fruit? They have them at the grocery store sometimes. They are like little yellow star shaped fruit. Also really pretty. I"ve never eaten one, tho.

It was not mine. I had, like many others here never heard of it before this post. I did a little research and found the picture in question. Perhaps like with apples, Dragon fruit very in size and color. I find Dragons fascinating; Thanks to this post I now have a broadened knowledge of odd fruit as well.

Its funny I came across this thread because last time I tripped mush a dragonfruit was the main premise of the night. We ate the dragon fruit deciding it was like a kiwi without the flavour, and after we ate it we made it a hat and a suit of paper... kind of fucked, if i ever find my old cell i will post a picture of it

Used to grow them in Florida. Someone mentioned starfruit, grew them too, as well as bananas, coconuts, mangos, apples, and pears. Here in Georgia, I can hardly grow anything but tomatoes and snow peas; Ironically, I can't even grow peach here.

Weird.  I posted in this thread in 2002.  Since then I have seen a dragonfruit!  ...I was in a breakfast diner with Moth, Jaques, OMR, Ani and my sister in Brooklyn.  We were all eating pancakes and eggs and stuff and Moth had an endless supply of delicious fruits...one of them being a dragonfruit.  It was yummy, she shared it.

  Thx Moth.
