Are Tyvek sleeves reusable???
    #9870199 - 02/26/09 02:56 PM (15 years, 6 days ago)

I want to use them in a new glovebox, but I don't know if a box of 10 is sufficient, or do I need a a larger supply????

Do you guys spray alcohol on the sleeves before use???

oh yeah- has anyone found a local source?? - the DIY meglo marts only have the full suits @$10..... I haven't checked the paint supply co's, but I'm not sure if it's a wholesale only item or if anyone stocks it for retail.

Yes you can use them over and over. you can wash them if they appear dirty or put them in the PC to make them sterile.

Buy the suit, cut off the arms and use the rest for filters.

Hi: What I use are surgical gowns that I buy on line at E-bay. They are the out dated gown that suppliers can't sell for use in surgery or are returned for some reason and are still in there factory packaging (they are for the most part still sterile, but have out dated so there is no guaranty). I've found that the material used in then is heavier than the jump/bunny suits sold at the hardware stores. Plus they have a water proof coat with an antimicrobial treatment on them and a nit wrist closers that seal off the arms better and are designed for the glove's cuff to go over and stay on to.

You don't need to sterilize them in between uses. Just remove them from the retaining rings on the glove box, wipe them down on the out sides with a mild cleaning solution, dry then spray with a lite coat of spray disinfectant on the outer surfaces and reinstall them back on to your glove box. Over time they will get a tare in them and all you have to do is cut another set off of another surgical gown. My glove box's retaining rings are six inches in diameter so I buy the extra large gowns but large gowns will work on most home made glove boxes. I pay about $5.00 each when I buy a box plus shipping and cost works out to what you would pay at a big box hardware store for jump/bunny suits or a little less.    Hipster
