Using Ralphster;s tek, is it really bad if the millet seeds break open ???

Its fine, there really is no way around getting some unless you want to pick through each seed and toss the broken ones.

Too many bursted grains will make your spawn more difficult to break up and shake. Try simmering for less time on your next attempt -- rinse and strain the grain when you begin to see the millet bursting.
