Just a thought I guess! If you can remember, how many jars worked and how many jars contamed.. any specific reason they failed that you now quite obviously recognise was the reason / fault? If you got a 100% yield, how many jars? and what tek were you using?

My first jars got fucked b/ I believed in "Fractional Sterilizing" of WBS.

So far everything do far is going very successfuly. I did 15 MS inoculation
And only 1 has failed to germinate. I'm in the middle of fruiting 2 of the cakes.
Hopefully they do well. The other cakes are colonizing in the jar or in a tray with some bulk

My first go i had 12 shitake jars 2 survived to fruiting. It was the most satisfying garden salad i ever ate.

My first grow actually had one of the best pinsets I have ever had. Beginner's luck, I guess.
It was 4pints WBS spawned to coir/coffee/verm.

Quick question.. you used WBS as the substrate for colonizing.. so the coir/coffee/verm that it was spawned to was.. what? in place of the perlite you'd use in the PF Tek? I don't really understand

My first grow was a success. I didn't get a huge yield, but every cake fruited 3-4 flushes and the fruits produced good trips. This was the one and only grow I did by fruiting cakes, the next was cakes spawned to coir, and the one after that I moved to grains spawned to coir. And I'm still doing grains 2 coir.

Nope.
First time failed for me.
I just opened the syringe and inoculated with no concern for contamination.
Then I found this forum, and haven't had any problems since.

I ordered my jars pre-sterilized off of the internet 12 of them. I ordered 2 syringes, 1 was B+ and the Other was Golden Teacher from one of the vendors here. All of 6 of the golden teacher jars colonized but did not fruit at all, looked as though it was some type of bacterial contamination. All of the B+ fruited just fine so that's what I have continued to grow.

My first grow was 10 jars and i lost all but two i fruited one cake and one small casing ......main reason was being inpatient and just jumping into something i knew nothing about.

i bought a small grow kit online, when it was nearly done i cut 2 chunks of and dropped them into the middle of some substrate i prepared, 1 cake into 3 ended up fruiting for about 2 months and giving me shitloads of spore prints. its been exponential from then.

Hahaha, NO.
First try, I did what a "friend" told me, cut a field baby up into tiny pieces, put in water, and inoculated 6 jars o'crap. I've never seen so many colors in a single jar of anything before Then, I lost 10 jars of pan cyans, and I'm pretty sure I didn't sterilize the wbs + reused jars.
3rd time GT's are producing beautiful fruits, don't know how potent yet. The yield seems to be small to me, but I think it's mostly perfecting the fine art of water in the substrate and humidification.

1st one went well- open air innoc of 6 PF jars.
Only time I did PF jars.

The coir/coffee/verm was the bulk substrate. Just mixed the colonized grain in there and let it sit for 3 weeks, haha. It took too long because I wasn't really familiar with the definition of "field capacity." It worked out very well though, for being my first grow.

Someone handed me a PF cake fully colonized and I threw it in a cheap FC I made in about 10 minutes and it worked. I didn't dunk and roll so my fruit were small but fruit never the less!!
Been using the same FC and success all around

Chock another up to the first grow being a successful pf jar. 
After the first batch of jars, I had a few jars left over colonizing, so I did my first grain-to-grain transfer, using the pf jars to spawn some rye grain. Used that to spawn some bulk, and never really went back to pf jars.
I think that they are a great first project, but, man, do you ever get a sense of accomplishment when you compare your first bulk yield to what you were getting out of jars.

Mine , Was a success, I found this site b4 cultivating, I have creeper, the trip is poor, but it takes off like crazy in the jars. But i know these arent Tomatos , they take ALOT of time. But i have had trouble in the past finding a suringe so i bought a flavor injecter, It worked like a charm the first time, the next time all i had was the mean green so now the local farm supple thinks i have one deathly sick dog, cause he is always needing his antibiotics but it doesnt seem so bad now, when i get to eat fresh shrooms.
