I have no idea why, but they just rock when Im stoned, even when Im not, but the instruments are just the shit while stoned or tripping (:Reel Big Fish, mxpx, and Blink182 are all favorites of mine too. Infact, Reel Big Fish and Less Than Jake are the only ska bands I really like. Sublime, 311, Bob Marley...those are good too!!

*GO TO THE CD STORE AND LOOK FOR CLUTCH*I never see anyone mention CLUTCH on these threads. Their new cd "elephant riders" is the shit, same with their cd before that one. The guitars are especially nice, they have that fuzz sound to em. Also, they have the vocalists voice dubbed on some tracks so when you're trippings the songs sound like there are 2 or 3 people singing, its crazy.

Pink Floyd is great. One that I haven't seen mentioned is Kai Tracid. It is some of the best techno I've heard. I haven't seen the CD in the US. It is more popular in Europe. If you know anything about getting MP3's.. they are fairly easy to find. I downloaded the whole CD. My all-time favorite is Sublime. My sister went to high school with Brad Nowell before he was in Sublime he was in some dirty garage band that used to play at a shitload of the parties my sister went to. I'm also a fan of 311, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Jim Morrison.. Now some of you are gonna think i'm a little weird but I also love the music of Marilyn Manson too.. I dont exactly believe in everything he does, but I am pretty much against religion. I also like Nine Inch Nails and this Europpean christian-goth band called Godflesh. just my 2 cents. -peace

yep, Meat beat manifesto (the absolute master and founder of the whole style imo), Fatboyslim (his earlier stuff anyway, like 'better living through chemistry), Bentley rhythem ace, Prodigy, Orbital (only their latest album) Mekon, and many many more nowadays, but im not really that much into the style anymore. Check out labels such as Skint, Wall of sound and Pussyfoot. The genre is called bigbeat or chemical beats.

I know everyone has a "beef" with Scott Weiland and STP but a real cool cd to trip to is '12 Bar Blues' by Scott Weiland. It wasn't sucessful commercially but it goes good with drugs! 'Tiny Music' by STP also has a cool retro texture that also sounds cool when in altered states. Though i admit i was dissapointed with 'No. 4'. Another lost side project is 'Mad Season'with Layne Staley(Alice In Chains) and Mike McCready(Pearl Jam) it has a nice flow.

Phish is the all time greatest, but seeing as how they're mentioned two hundered times in this thread, i'll throw in someone I havn't posted about .. William S. Burroughs. If you have a CD where he's just reading his work, it's insane. Hard to follow when you're peaking, but if you're coming down, his voice is so soothing... if you've never heard it, check it out!

Odin, theres loads of great electronic music around, chemical brothers and crystal method are just the tip of the ice berg. I'm no huge fan though, so I don't have lots of information. Look into some trance and goa stuff for trippier music.

Can absolutely NEVER go wrong with Phish while you're tripping. Although, The Crystal Method at a low volume adds a neat techno effect to your trip. But other than that, any good guitarring is great -- including Hendrix, Clapton, and Tom Petty kicks.

electronic music that will send your brain for a loop:Commander Tom - Noom Records - some sickening shit, that will have you bouncing on your fav shrooms.. he has many mix cd's out which you can probably find at large music stores Lab 4 - One Inch Records - my favorite hard trance group, their tracks are twisted and hard. I love them! Astral Projection - Psychedelic Trance - some of the most amazing music i have ever heard. these guys are from israel and have made some of the coolest trance music ever. Chris Liberator - Stay Up Forever Records - Acid techno and trance - if you like hard and dirty sounding acid techno, this guy is the shit. BT - Brian Transeu - this guy can be found in any music store ... he has got to make some of the strangest stuff ive ever heard. Especially on his latest album (Movement in Still Life) very melodic and beautiful trance as well as aphex-twin (??) style hip hop.. you have to listen for yourself... Aphex Twin - i dont think many people can handle this guy, his tracks are WAAAAY out there.. twisted... a lot of people like acoustic music for tripping, but some people who have the stomach to handle music specifically made to fuck with your mind might enjoy the above suggestions.. ------------------ synja ----------- "We will no longer let the powers that be control our minds..." - LAB 4 "The unexamined life is not worth living..." - Socrates "No one ever changed the world for the better by following the rules." - Anonymous
