UK Canning Jars - Success at last !!

At last I have found a jar that fits the bill.  I put the full jar in a pc for 45 mins at 15 psi.  No problems !!!  They cost ?1.50 each from Tesco.  I drilled a hole in the top for the polyfil filter.



Get down to Tesco's NOW !!! :smirk:

Hi fellow Londoner.....I use the glass Bon Mamam jam/marmalade jars from Sainsburys/Tescos/Safeways.They cost ?1.30 each and you get to eat the jam too :smile:  Punch 4 holes in the lid and off you go.....Peace

good stuff, if u really wanna be hardcore and go all the way, canning jars can be purchased from mycosupply.com

They ship worldwide, 10 canning jars is $11. Not sure wot shipping is though, funnily enough they also sell the plastic ones almost identical to the ones from tesco, but are more expensive, $14.

Might give em ago, although it looks a little hard to see through.

though it's all good :wink:that they pc ok, they are not the ideal shape for the brf pf tek,too tall and narrow, which can slow
colonization.

as you have a pc why not try grain while you wait for the brf.
wbs is cheap enough to just do a practice run, to get a feel for it.

these jars->



are available at netto's for 99p with 200g of "instant" coffee included.
cheap enough even,to throw the coffee out if you don't like it.
four of those will fit quite snugly in a "prestige,high dome" 6L type pc.(e-bay ~£29 ex p+p).
each one will hold 380g-400g of colonized grain or ~1000g bulk substrate or casing material,

screw tesco... get down and dirty at netto's.:grin:
