To me(at least) the key is to just be yourself and make everyone conform to you(me), that way you'll ALWAYS fit in. I realize that sounds egocentric in the extreme, and wish i had the ability to express myself better on this point, but it's a lot better than trying to make yourself "fit" anywhere

No, I don't fit in at all when I am myself. I have to put on a complete act even to socialise a little bit, doesn't matter now anyways, I dropped out and am finishing school online.

Oh yeah, cheers to weirdness and lack of sanity!
I fit in with the people I hang around with, but probably only because on average they are just as weird as I can be. I only really fit into "the big crowd" if I hide my urges to scream "EEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" and roll around on the carpet.

I think I fit in somewhat. I have my own little group of friends I hang out with, and I have aquaintances I talk to occasionally when I go out on the weekends.
On the shroomery, I think some people like me and some people don't, but you get that everywhere you go anyway. That's life.
I like time to myself as well. Some days I'm an introvert and some days I'm an extrovert. Depends on my mood.

I fit in to many groups, yet I am an individual, and I have tons of friends. I don't try to judge people on the surface, and I have respect for a lot of people no matter what their social status. The only thing worth judging to me is moral character, and I always try to judge my own, before examining somone elses.

I never really tried to and it certainly didn't come naturally so I settled for not 'fitting in' quite a long time ago.
Fortunately I've found quite a group of other misfits that I fit in quite well with.

i think there comes a point when fitting in almost becomes something that just holds people down, people try so hard to fit one mold or another or belong to one label or another. but then there are always those people that try so hard to fit in but if you ask them why they want to fit in they throw a little bitch fit and say "i dont wanna fit in im an idividual" blah blah blah its almost to the point where people try to fit in with the people that dont fit it or something, i think im rambling

I'm the same way. Back in high school, one class I'd be sitting next to the punk rockers, the next class I'm hangin with the cowboys (most became meth junkies after graduation, btw), and the next class I'd have a couple preps or someone to talk to. I hated it when people would limit themselves to one group and immediately think the other groups are shitty and not worth your time. There's usually at least one really cool person in every social group, you just gotta get to know them. Like the stoners at school HATED the preps, and the preps HATED the stoners. I got on fine with both tho. Be yourself, and as long as being yourself isn't TOO anti-social, you'll be fine.

If I ever had differences with anyone, the peace pipe would solve it  Trying and worrying about fitting in is the biggest cause of just the opposite. One of my favorite things is conversation. I love talking to people in every social arena. There is so much to learn by just starting up a conversation with somebody.

An open ended question, hm. I'll approach it in terms of culture. I don't fit perfectly into any culture but do fit into the American, Spanish, Italian, Greek, and Asian cultures. Most of my friends are of this culture, so I am around and "inside" these cultures daily. Building an extensive relationship with entheogens ultimately dissolves cultural boundaries, and this has happened to me. Being in college, I am identifying most strongly with the "professional" culture of resumes, interview, suit-and-ties, meetings, this sort of thing. I have many problems with this culture but find it extremely efficient and allowing much more tolerance (esp. with the younger generations). But as Dr. T. McKenna said, "all culture is being destroyed by the same people that want to turn the world into an airport arrival center."
Generally, I don't mind not fitting in. I like my uniqueness and continue with my art, music, and dance while pursuing professionalism. I haven't burnt many bridges, but have burnt the bridges that create ignorance, stupidity, and intolerance.

Going by what those around me say, apparently not. I'm pretty quiet in big groups for the most part, but almost too talkative around those i know for some reason. People I meet say I'm noticeable for the way I dress, act, and think (I'm extremely crazy at times).. Oh, and all the friends I've met this year have been like, "I noticed you before and wanted to talk to you and say hi or something but I was afraid to" or they tell me they wanted to talk to me but apparently I walk around in some way where people arent sure whether I'm friendly or ready to kill. Word.

Who says people don't resort to drugs because they don't fit in?
I fit in quite nicely. I am materialistic. I live a life with many friends who will be there for me, and who I'll be there for. I'm always out socializing, and having a good time. Can any of you misfits, who would prefer to be secluded, truly say that you are happy?
And if you are indeed happy, can you be happy without drug use?
I think a lot of people don't look far enough into their lives and who they are, as they give themselves credit for.

I can only speak for mysefl, but as a Rule, I do not need the adoration of Others to find worth in myself - Thats not to say I dont subscribe to the Ideal of Friendship -on the contrary, I long for a friend - a True Friend, not a flippant, fairweather friend - I have had a few in my time, but We outgrow each other - its Life. Currently I have been introduced to a new Group, and it is possible I may find a Friend in this Group - only Time will tell.
And if you are indeed happy, can you be happy without drug use?
Actually, yes. I rarely use drugs, and if I do partake, it is in very small doses. I find it helps me explore deeper recesses of my mind normally locked down . I enjoy smoking grass by myself and with friends, if I have some at the time - I enjoy Shrooms with Friends, but usually do them alone because I dont know many people with a hardy enough Ego to withstand the trip
- I can say with all honesty, my Social Standing is exactly where I want it to be.

Not really especially in my town but I like it that way. I go to shows alone I do pretty much everything alone but I am not lonely. I enjoy the company of others but I don’t stick around long enough for it to go south. There’s plenty of groups Rasta guys, tattoo artists, bar people, suit and ties, rednecks, stoners, etc. I can get along with everyone pretty well but I don’t say I fit into a group. I drove a taxi for awhile and really got an experience of all walks of life in the college town I live in. I like to stay sober and be healthy and have my own space that’s where I thrive. Do I want to go out and socialize more yes. Sometimes it ends up biting me in the ass but hey you gotta roll the dice sometimes. I don’t have any friends that I text or call on the average basis. Mainly family. I do feel very blessed to live the life I do. I want to get out and do more things like travel and meet different people. I want to take an actual vacation with the intention to just have a good time and not go somewhere with a specific purpose like meet up with family. I want to go to the beach damnit! This snow is getting to me a little bit. I’m excited to see what the future has In store and am trying to live in the present as much as possible. Isolation is elevation. I think everyone needs a healthy dose of solitude once in awhile. I feel like just my presence makes people mad sometimes. Maybe I'm too happy for them. I've had plenty of jobs where staff members want me to fail because I am myself. I've had plenty of relationships and friends turn on me because of jealousy or envy. If you don't have haters you are doing something wrong. I would like to meet more fellow mycologists. I want to meet someone who is seriously killing it to inspire me to get better or teach me some things. My music taste is also all over the place maybe that has something to do with it. Sorry for the rant and the unorganized thoughts here just wanted to unload.

yo lets grab a beer next time im on the front range. when this fuckint snow melts. Im alone 99% of the time and thats the way I like it. Most people cant spend more than a day alone and they start to come undone. I built a cabin out in the woods way way up north east and the quietness and alone time is healing. No tv. no computer. i have short wave radio. I have a neighbor lives a mile away. Old guy looks like Santa if he were a biker. I enjoy having coffee with him maybe once a week and thats about it.
I do art. I make music. I run the coast. Its more difficult and yet simpler. No running water exactly. Yet anyway im working on getting a well. I dont have a septic system.. just an outhouse where i compost my shit. Slowly turning the entire 7 acres into a traditional japanese garden.
Anyway. I like the cut of your jib friendo. One of these days well have a single beer as im not much of a drinker. take care and youre more than welcome in team cling.

If anyone ever thought otherwise it's because they want to try and be 1 up and we've never had the chance to communicate with eachother. People are people
Anyone who brings people down doesn't fit in with me
I fit in at work because I am friendly / chilled out / well mannered and mind my own business
