Strain/Variety growth parameter compendium?

Howdy, experienced mycofiles out there. Can anyone point me to a FAQ or site that lists the available strains of mushies and the prefered methods of cultivation for each? Such as best substrate, optimum veg & fruiting temps, humidity, etc. I've found some in TMC but I'm looking for a more complete updated list if possible. I've seen some vague info on some vendor sites, but I was hoping maybe an experienced grower had compiled this data in one place. I've looked through various faq's and such, but haven't found what I'm looking for. Maybe I missed it. It would be nice to have all the info for each strain in order to make the best decision of what to grow.

Since you say strain I assume you mean for cubensis? For the parameters you have specified, all cubes like the same conditions. The strains simply don't varry that much at all. The only strain I've ever run across which really seemed to prefer a cultivation method or substrate was the PFC on the PF tek. Aside from that, everything you read in TMC applies to all the commercially available cubes.

Temps, humidity, substrate, none of these things are strain specific. For the most part the biggest characteristic of a cube strain is it's shape.

I've heard Puerto Ricans like salsa music played to them and fried beans as a substrate, and Thai like child porn pictures near the terrarium. But mycofile is correct, they all are pretty much the same parameters.

Thanks Myc, that answers my question, I think. You're saying that any cubie will work with any tek meant for cubensis? All things the same, just different spores. All righty then, I'm off......

i heard for fat stem cubes are a little bit different .they say so much aborts for matias romeros.some of prefer cakes to case.

i wanna *bump* this thread up to the top for 2 reasons:

1. Fred's post is a sound one, and if one grower has seen definite diffs in only one species, perhaps others have similar tales
2. I'm worrying about my PF classic (romeros syringe from smart botanics) as i planned to case em...

i apologise for suggesting that your post was an advert for the little guy, but maybe you can see why i may have thought that. i'm still wondering why mycofile asserts that MRs have specific needs, but he hasn't answered my pm. anyone else?
