Negative Pressure

This is fairly basic but I need someone to confirm this for me:
So if you kindly will:
I hooked up a new Vicks cool mist to my Martha, the coolmist has two PVC sockets in it, so two hoses are going out of the coolmist and two are going into the Martha. The coolmist has been acting up and leaking water out the seams (where the two halves come together). It's not a defect but seems to be negative pressure going back into the coolmist and forcing moisture to escape at the seems.
So I'm just wondering if anyone has encountered this problem and if that's in fact what it is, if so I'll just correct the problem by having only one hose. I don;t want to mess with it because the piping is tricky so if anyone has nay other suggestions I would prefer to do that.
Thanks,
I.

i did the same thing ... you over filled it ... look at the front of your coolmist there is a fill line. under the discharge.

What size PVC are you using ?? Also you may have over filled it, But you should have created an outlet at least as big as the factory outlet, My v400 is hooked up to my greenhouse by using 1 inch pvc pipe.

No it's not overfilling... I made that mistake the first time, I made sure not to overfill it again I am using 1" rubber tubing with 1" PVC. I even taped it shut and there must have been significant pressure cause the water still made it out through the creases in the tape. Now I taped the entire thing and made sure there were no creases, and so far so good.
Thanks for the help,
I.

It's not 'negative' pressure, it's 'static pressure' and it's going to ruin the bearings the impeller and fan spin on. I don't recommend running hoses from a coolmist because of this problem. If you INSIST on running hoses, you should use the factory outlet and place a 4" dryer hose over it and let the mist rise up to the mini-greenhouse through that. RR

Thanks for clearing that up Would to tubes going into the Martha contribute to this static pressure opposed to one 1" one?
I'm going to play with my setup now.
Thanks,
I.

What would you recommend to get the proper FAE in a MARTHA if the coolmist is inside?

pipe the intake to the outside with equal size hosing as the factory inlet.

I will try that, even though two hoses seems big enough. My bottom tier is free so I can put the cool mist inside I'm just trying to figure out what else I can do other than manually fan.
Thanks,
I.

Cut lots of holes and/or slits to provide natural fresh air exchange. The humidifier inside the greenhouse will deliver higher humidity. RR

I have a coolmist inside bottom tier, and a cool mist elevated outside pumping Fresh air through a pvc attachment connected to the original output that splits in two and connects two hoses to the top of the greenhouse pointed down. I havent been using this setup too long. Does anyone see a problem with static pressure? The hoses only run about 1.5 feet. Ive also made slits in the plastic covering.
