it's not even that, you're spending a lot of time asking and trying to figure stuff out.
if you start reading the complete teks you'll start to get more of a big picture understanding that will really serve you in the long run

nah dont leave standing water in a perlite chamber. Put the perlite into a colander or strainer, and rinse it under the sink really well, let it strain till most of the drips stop coming out repetetively and then dump it into the bottom of the chamber. This way all the perlite is wet but there's no standing puddles of water to harbor contams or diminish evaporation which creates the humidity in the chamber's air.

That's what I was going to do... after I read some tek instructions.
I'm nearly ready to start colonization. All I need is verm, perlite and brown rice powder!
I'm mildly excited.

You'll be even more excited when you see your first pins.

Ha thanks man except now i picked them all and i have to hope they can dry well since i totalllyyy forgot about how much weight i would be drying in the end. For now they are under a black tshirt with a light shining on them. Hopefully that works for now. In the future im going to get a Nesco dehydrator. As for me doing something right..i couldnt even tell you. The mycobag cake screamed failiure in the beginning heres an example

So honestly i dont know what i did any differently other than Fan more often and for 30 second counts as well as mist every so often. Beats me LOL

Yea, that's very strange, never seen that. My one cake is doing something funky, I'm not sure it's the same thing as yours though. All the pins are very light in color and taking a while to mature. I know it's not just primordia either, since I can see like full pins, they're just all very pale. I don't know if they're like albino or what, but it's freaking me out.

Mine were disgusting in the beginning, peeling stems, white caps and completely wouldnt grow any bigger upwards but did turn into fat asses. They wee disgusting looking but the trip was AMAZINNNNGGGG wow they were so potent so i cant exactly complain especially now since the cakes have bloomed so nicely. Second flush time, currently dunking them.

Nah I've said nothing about lighting. To be honest, I don't know what sort of lighting is required.
Any ideas?
I've had good success using blue cold cathode lights, like the kind that are intended for use inside of a tricked-out computer. They are nice because they run on 12v and usually are in the form of 18"-24" sticks.
