Pf cake thought to be dead, was actually alive

So i found this sort of interesting. I had a Pf-cake on the side that was in a terrarium for lets say...3 weeks. I got tired of waiting and decided to toss it. It was a whatever situation since i have a vast amount of resources for growth either way. Too my surprise i forgot to toss it per say, it was still in the terrarium i built just sitting in my trash can which stays relatively clean and was empty at the time for like a week. I checked it last night and wouldnt you know it.. PINS. I found this very hilarious as my room stays at like 63 degrees and it was in the dark for a week. Has anyone ever had this happen to them? Lol i just thought i would post this because it was so amusing

Can you reuse perlite or should i toss it when i wanna do a new batch?
