If you haven't figured it out yet... It's very hard for me to get to sleep.
sleeping to elliott smith sounds nice actually. but that sounds ideal^^

for me it has to be people talking. i find people talking very soothing.
music keeps me up when i try and sleep to it.
if i'm very tired i can sleep without sound, but darkness wakes me up.
the best thing to fall asleep to is this documentary i have about deep sea creatures. the guy's voice is very pedantic but then sometimes he says funny phrases like "weird squat lobsters". the whole thing doesn't really have music, just these wierd sound effects.

I usually sleep on a couch, with talk radio on. If it gets to late though coast to coast comes on, and I cant sleep with that nonsense, I'll just end up getting mad about how fucking stupid people are, and I have to get up and turn it off.

a nice lovely mattress and podcasts for me. Talk radio stuff is soothing. I also sleep with a pillow over my head, think it's a psychological hangover from university where it was really noisy outside.

lol sometimes i can't sleep when coast to coast is on if they're talking about aliens or demons. sometimes that stuff scares the crap out of me.
i heard the craziest guy i've ever heard on that show the other day.
his message was boring, but he kept talking about hidden codes in the bible and how angels had wars in specific parts of space.
yeah i don't know it wasn't unusually wild content for that show, but the guy sounded like a complete maniac.

Yeah, they pretty much all sound like absolute lunatics. There used to be some really interesting people on there 10 or so years ago, but now its just a bunch of loons rambling on about their delusions. I don't think I've turned it on once in the past 4 years that I haven't been completely furious about within a couple of minutes.

Dark usually with music. Lately the Dead sirius channel on satelite. Often psytrance or chillout stations on di.fm.

I prefer dark and silence.
Falling asleep to people talking would be the worst for me. My brain fucks with me sometimes: I'll hear my name crop up in whatever conversation repeatedly. Especially if I've been smoking pot.

I actually turned coast to coast on tonight, and it isn't too bad. I don't recognize the host though.

Darkness, Darkness Be my pillow Take my hand And let me sleep In the coolness of your shadow In the silence of your deep
Darkness, Darkness Hide my yearning For the things I cannot be Keep my mind from constant turning Toward the things I cannot see now Things I cannot see now Things I cannot see
Darkness, darkness, Long and lonesome, Ease the day that brings me pain. I have felt the edge of sadness, I have known the depth of fear. Darkness, darkness, be my blanket, Cover me with the endless night, Take away, take away the pain of knowing, Fill the emptiness of right now, Emptiness of right now, now, now Emptiness of ri-ight now.
Darkness, darkness, be my pillow, Take my hand, and let me sleep. In the coolness of your shadow, In the silence, the silence of your deep. Darkness, darkness, be my blanket, Cover me with the endless night, Take away, take away the pain of knowing Fill the emptiness of right now, Emptiness of right now now now Emptiness of right.... Oh yeah Oh yeah Emptiness, emptiness Oh yeah

omg i bought the campfire headphase a couple of days ago and can't stop listening to it, it puts you on different wavelengths. blissfully beautiful music with soothing orchestral undertones and improvisational repetitive (but not boring) melodies.

Yea Eluvium is pretty sick. although one time i was kinda falling asleep after a night of tripping put on Copia and that song "Prelude for Time Feelers" came on. the song had me crying so hard over the contemplation of mortality, and the thought that there will be a time where i have to let go of my loved ones that made it impossible for me to fall asleep. my heart had never felt pain so real and so powerful from a mere thought. I don't think i could ever fall asleep or listen to that for a while.
I need to sleep with lights off, lots of pillows, a big blanket. I can sleep with or without noise, it doesn't really affect me either way. I can fall sleep through jsut about anything these days.

I love music like Elvium or Elliott Smith to help me relax, but I can't sleep to music unless I am on a plane or something. I keep my fan on so I have a continuous noise so I don't hear any one that decides to walk around in my house at 2am when I go to sleep. I sleep facing the left side with one pillow under my arm and one for my head. Silence is a must, maybe some talking from far away could be ok. I also get a little fucked up when I go to sleep high and think that I hear people talking, lol.
campfire headphase is the shit btw

Wow that's pretty intense. That's one of my favorite songs on the album though. I taught myself the piano part Have you heard his album Accidental Memory in the Case of Death? It's all piano, and there's some GREAT stuff on there. Recorded in under two hours, no production.
Every song by Eluvium has its own color, its own image. I love the titles too.

Fuck clocks! I have several friends and family who will refuse to let me sleep at their house because if i even suspect that there is a clock tickin away in the house, anywhere in the house, i will go remove the batteries. I also have a very hard time sleeping outside of my bed regardless of where its at. I might be the most picky sleeper ever here are some of my criteria. 1.dead black; i have come to accept my comp light but i tried t darken it with a sharpie. 2.head must be pointed west. If you spin me round in a dark room i can find west by laying down. 3.fan must be on.(its whir drowns out the animals outside) 4.65degrees or under.(didnt sleep more than an hour at a time for a year in iraq. 5.NUDE 6. and this is the worst because i love my girlfrined to death but i have to be alone. when im with her all i do is lay awake and wish she would get up for some more sex.
