Here is my first grow with B+ using a microwave tec. Have since baught a pc but the microwave is ok. I had all 4 jars that I started come out with no contams.
Does anyone think that these are a bit small for B+ or is it just me? Also the aborts... should i pull the heads off or are they safe too?

pretty small but still fine... my 1/4 pints I cased fruit that size. and my cakes do too when theres a dozen or more on a single cake. is that cased or just birthed from the jar?

nope those look just about right.
B+ was the first strand that i tried to grow. And yes they're looking good, one thing i remembered about b+ is that the stems are skinny, compared to like texans or something.
And they veils break off pretty quick, of course it varies from person to person from tek to tek, but compared to GT or cambos, veil is off quick
i personally like to harvest when the veil is just about to break off but i wouldnt really worry about it too much
Yeah nice tho, what exactly do you mean by microwave tek, do you just sterilize jars with the microwave?
because i currently dont have a PC, i have to go to my friends house every time i need to use it.
So i spend like a day there getting like 15 jars ready to go, lol i should really invest in one for myself which i'm sure i will soon, anyways yeah looking good.
i'm rambling....

Yeah i sterilized them in the microwave before inoculation. I read that tec before i even found the stove top method and tried it out. It worked good I think.

a dunk and roll would benefit them a lot. my cakes average smaller like that but after a dunk and roll the size increases as does the pin set.. the pic in my sig is a B+. was one of two shrooms on that flush one matured at half an inch was so lil and cute then that monster

Do you think it's effective to use like a steam sterilization on a stove top, do you think it will get the job done, i use WBS and i've heard it's harder with bird seed.
Or i guess what do you think is most effective other than obviously a PC

I was thinking of doing that. I wasnt sure that it would benifiet me as the top of the jar was already covered in verm

wat r u doing PF tek, cause if not you dont really need verm at first...at all there are some pros to it, but not necessary, unless your doing the cakes
i'm not going to sit here and say don't do that but you know, test shit out do this and that and see what you like and see what you actually need do in order to achieve the yield you want...i'm not sayin you havent just spittin it out there

at first i had one bin with this humidifer and it like gave it too much moisture believe it or not, and now with this one humidifer i can use it to go to three pretty big bins, i just have PVC coming from it with, i dont know what to call them, pvc connecters kind of, so theres obviously pipe going into all three....damn lol its hard to write it out, i should just post a pic

Those look normal size for cakers. My first grow was B+ too. I did it with popcorn cased in 50/50+ and first flush had small shrooms
but 2nd flush had 3 twenty grammers this is one
pick the aborts off whole, stem and cap, then dunk the cake

those look good ya i use bins like that but a little taller so i can put a lid on them without worry about the mushies hitting the top, i have three on top of each other so its like 6 ft. tall prolly, and i cut sections out so i can work with them from going in on the sides.
Those look very healthy, you can't really ask for too much more

the pic in my sig wasn't a rolled cake. was a soak the top trial. yeah gave me a big one but that's just it 17.9 wet grams off one flush? crap. my dunked cake pushed 27. something after I dunked and rolled... this pic is one of the 1/4 pints I cased
small fruit. but a mess of em... I have a tray u can see the progress in te "spawningto bulk? or not" thread it was a dumb move that I got lucky with and its almost ready to pin but being only like 1.5 inches deep I dout it'll throw huge ons. I'm waiting for a good size one to clone. go look its just colonized in the pic. will update when I can get a pic of pins
