Amanita Muscaria ?

Found a whole bunch of these hiding under my pine trees. Not sure what they are and would never try to eat but they sure are beautiful. They are sort of dryed out in pics but they are almost a bright red before picked.

Nice find. That does look like Amanita Muscaria. And you did find it in the right area, area being under a pine tree. If you intend to eat this mushroom, do it with caution. Read up on effective methods of consumtion, Good Luck............peace

NIce pics of those Amanitas! I don't know much about the various colorations of Muscaria, but they sure look like it. Nice find, and let someone who knows them real well give you an ID before you experiment. Happy Hunting :laugh:

Good comment Morrowind.

The volvas and stem bases look OK for Amanita muscaria, but I don't see a ring on the one photo where we can see the underside of a cap. There should be a conspicuous ring. Sometimes they fall off or wash off, but you need to verify that one exists to be sure of the ID.

TM, what do you think
it's the only amanita i know of with a red-orange cap, indistinct/bulbous base, viel remnants on the cap and no porminant annulus.
