I'm not certain, but they appear to be sulfur tufts (Naematoloma fasciculare.

It could just be the resolution (or I could be wrong), but aren't sulfur tufts usually a much brighter yellow than this? What lead you do draw this conclusion? Habitat + shape + cepitose growth?

What are sulfur tufts? Are they poisonous? They're definitely not hallucinagenic are they?

They have a redish brown spore print. A little bit like a rust color. What do you think now?

Nive photos.

They look similar to Pholiota malicola. If they are, then the young specimens should have an extremely fragile veil over the gills which leaves only a zone of fibrils on the stem after it breaks. Also, the caps are typically fairly slimy on most Pholiotas. Another things which is helpful for identification is odor.

Happy mushrooming!

I don't know about hte viel but the caps are a little slimy I'd say. The odor is just very "mushroomy" - similar to fresh mushrooms that you cook.

They're not naematoloma, the spore print color is wrong. I'd go with ToxicMan on this one on pholiota...

Either way, Not active, could be poisonous... Don't take chances.

Don't worry, I had NO intention of eating them in any quantity unless someone her swore they were postive they were the good stuff and even then I'd want verification from another source.
