delayed pinning

temperature in the area my cakes were birthed is usually about 78 degrees...sometimes at night it gets down to 65 degrees...
They are in a rubbermaid container with perlite and get 4 hours of light each day by flashlight...So far ONE has started pinning --- most of the others have some pointed fluffy growth subsequent to birthing.    am I just being way too impatient?  or is this temp range unhealthy?  I am trying to hurry this up.

ALSO, i know this is specifically mentioned in the FAQ  --- so I am wondering if someone has some ideas about how to stabilize the temperature?  I was using an aquarium heater, but any temp increase makes them too hot during the day..

Remember . once pinning has started slightly higher temps are good , 74 - 80 *F is good fruiting temp range . So set you heater for about 76*F , monitor the temp make adjustments as needed . Then as flush comes to an end drop temps down again to initiate pinning again , after pin set raise back up a few degrees .
If dropping below 68*F , you may be on the verge of dormancy . Use a better light than a flashlight , indirect sunlight , we use a blue wavelength light bulb(for chameleons ) that fits in a normal light fixture , is working very well .
