You really think a bigger pot would help? The pot it's in is 4-5 gallons.

I don't know if it's dwarf Cavendish. I googled "dwarf cavendish" and most of those pictures look very similar to my plant.

Also, I rarely water it heavily, because this leads to guttation which last for days. Is that bad for the plant at all?

I had banana plants just like that did the same thing they did alright that was until the scale bugs moved in. I tried everything to get rid of those things but they just kept coming back and eventually killed the plants. Those little bastards did the same thing to my first Salvia plant to but I saved it the first time around had a sprout that was one inch tall and grew a new plant from that. Then the scale bugs killed the thing the 2nd time around that was a few years ago now I have a new Salvia and its doing great. Never got back into growing banana plants after that but always liked the way the plants looked.

well i think if you want it to grow to its full potential then giving it as much root space as possible is a must.
