During bad trips I've had that.
The first time I wanted to solo trip I did a full eighth of some arguably unrealistically potent cubensis. The first 20 minutes of the trip was incredible... the rest was pure horror. This ended up feeling like a 6 gram trip.
I didn't know who I was, where I was, I didn't even know I was tripping. I believed that it had been night time for eternity and that the sun would never come up, time slipped by at such a creep that I thought this was my hell.
Anywho, here is the funny part:
Eventually my girlfriend came over to help settle me down, but I was tripping out of my mind. At one point I was convinced that her and I were trying to have a child and we weren't able to. (Really we've never planned to, I'm just tripping balls) At one point I was getting closed eyed visual that went along with this idea that the only way for me to reach the light at the end of the tunnel was to have sex and conceive a child with her. I was so fizzled up I couldn't even get myself up to do anything. And so for like an hour straight I was trying to get it up, trying not to give up because at the time I was so convinced that was the only way out of hell.
The human imagination can be beautiful and troubling at the same time, right, and wrong.

I once had the idea, on LSD, that humanity still performed ritual sacrifice. However, unlike the olden days where the sacrifice was bluntly murdered, now the sacrificee was led to kill themselves. Survival of the fittest was still alive and well and the weak are rooted out by killing themselves. I believed that I was genetically weak and destined to kill myself. It was a huge bummer because it felt so real.

Oddly enough I find that to be a truth. In the sense that those unable to handle life, those that are weak mentally and can't handle this world have a tendency to off themselves. A mental survival of the fittest. And I'm not saying this to be an asshole, I've had to personally fight my way through depression and mental health. I was convinced that offing myself was my way to remove myself from the gene pool and to stop passing on my weakness.
I've long beat that sickness though, so in the end I think it taught me a lot, made me stronger. I believe in mental survival.

Also, Oddly enough...
I find this to be somewhat true.

'I should just give everything in my pockets away, nothing is important, money makes one unhappy, cigarettes are addictive and one doesn't need any of these things like wallets and keys.'
Five minutes later, you're bumming cigarettes off the guy you just gave your pack to and some kind stranger is asking you if you're ready to have your wallet back.
Wow, not so much that mr. I dont think you have a clue what im talking about.
The cyclical nature of my reality might not be your cup of tea and if not you can just go ahead and fuck off completely.
I didnt even explain any of what I was talking about, so how is it that you think you can just come out and say that? Was it not obvious that I was simply trying to illustrate a possibly "false realization"?
Thanks for giving me some direction...........lol
Interesting that it sounds like, "mixing Zen Buddhist study with too much acid=". I had never studied buddhism at that point in my life you dork.
I meant to reply to the OP, not to you. I was just trying to contribute to the thread. I'll edit my post.
Did you honestly think I was replying to your post, or were you just being a little uptight about the 'must reply to proper poster' thing?

Yeah you're right. Except in my mind it was completely blown out of proportion. I don't mean to get into the griddy details but this was my thought process:
It's dark, it has been dark forever, the sun isn't going to come up, I must be in hell, how did I get here, my girlfriend, she is here too. I must've brought her here. How do we get out? We need to have a child, I need to get inside of her. *in the mean time, I shriveled up like a raisen*
I pictured, visually, that if I could could have sex with her in that moment, as soon as we'd both orgasm we'd somehow be transported into the light and then appear on some fucking cruise ship basking in the sun with a child by our side. And I couldn't do it, lol. It was crazy as fuck. Interesting how everything she was telling me during all this( she was trying to comfort me the entire time) didn't phase me at all, I didn't understand it, it all translated to darkness. Weird.

I think it is fair to say that you can have false ideas when you are in psychedelic land just like when you are sober.
Yes, I'd say 90% of the realizations you have when tripping are nonsense. The trick to getting the most out of your trip is knowing which one to discard, and which ones are worth exploring further.
