growth in jars but what is it?
    #982667 - 10/22/02 01:39 PM (15 years, 5 months ago)

Reading from a book my friend wrote I found this passage and could use some help interpeting it.

"Four fully colonized jars have been sitting out and are every day bathed in in-direct sunlight from the nearby window. Initiating pinning is a new thing to Thom and he is starting to notice yellow circles all over the place but with no 'brown heads' in the middle he is left to wonder. Could these yellow circles bethebeginning of primordia? Or could they be the beginning of contamination."

Not a very well written book.

Some times the yellow is just mycelium waste, others its a bacterial infection usually due to a too high water content of the substrate. I don't think its really all that bad, but you may have something else on your hands.
