soory that the pics aren't the best a friend found these in his backyard growing of the cellar door. they look like lichens but they see the apearnce of caps and there is definitely myce on the bottom of the door.

you have there the "British Soldier Lichen"(Cladonia cristatella)
a fungus with an algae top.
the algae is Trebouxia erici.
