For bulk, dude uses approx ratio of 1 to 10

It just depends upon how long you want to wait for your casing layer to colonise. For on 1/2 cake I used a rubbermaid round container probably 6-7 inches in diameter, and a casing layer about 1/2 inch thick about a week ago, and it'll be done a couple of days (due to my lack of an incubation chamber for my casings)

sweet, thanks, however if your casing is bigger wont your yeild be bigger, making it worth the wait; or will it just stop colonizing after so long?
