ive smoked only a hand full of times and have smoked mostly with music playing. the music definitely guides my trips and listening to string cheese and st. germain has taken me to some far out places.
about to smoke after classes today and was wondering what you guys think about listening to music while blasting off. it helps me mellow out a bit before the trip but if you guys have reasons not to listen to music im all for it

I find that music isn't that effective at guiding me during the peak of an intense DMT trip. It is just to intense, but after that initial few minutes in hyperspace having music playing in the background in the time when you are coming back can make way for some very profound trips. I remember the first breakthrough DMT trip I had I was listening to imagine by John Lennon. I'll never forget those emotions felt during that first breakthrough, everytime I hear the song it brings back all the thoughts and emotions.

Music can provide an interesting emotional backdrop, but for me it has to be quite mellow or it will seem too intense and annoying during the peak. I get frustrated that I cannot change the music with mind-power alone. The music can sometimes become inappropriate or irrelevant to my current mind-state so I just end up pushing it out of my mind.
That said, if there were a song that were written especially for DMT (ie: toke at a certain point in the music), with perfect timing and development of the moods and ideas, that would possibly be the greatest DMT trip ever.

DMT in a dark room after a kava session with half an ativan and weed with some shpongle blaring was life-changing

I wonder why no one ever mentions the bass depth enhancement that DMT causes. No one else here has heard a good stereo on DMT?

When I first got into DMT I would smoke it at parties, usually at sunrise when the DJ is throwin down hard. But now I prefer silence because the sounds heard on DMT are otherworldly! DMT symphonies are indescribably amazing and external music fucks it up.

I was listening to EOTO for my first breakthrough DMT trip (and my second or third DMT trip ever) just this last friday.
for me, the music definitely enhanced the experience. Of course my trip consisted of partying with the DMT elves and getting a Happy-Valentines-Day-Hyperdimensial lap dance from one of their feminoids. 
So for me, having electro-funk playing before, during, and after the experience really helped to MAKE the experience. We (by "we" I mean myself, the elves, and my friends) were all dancing to the music.

oh man I just got chills thinking about last time i smoked DMT
i turned that one shpongle song on with terrance mckenna talking, and right after I hit it it hit that part where his voice gets really high pitched, which synched perfectly with the DMT buzzing
