Arizona outdoor pics
    #981242 -

Here's some pics of Northern Arizona, for anyone who's interested.

The first two are at Reservation Lake, Just inside the White Mountain Apache Reservation.
There's some awesome Trout fishing here, some nice German Browns can be caught here. Rainbows, too.

This one's a pic of some good Turkey habitat near Big Lake:

There's some really beautiful country up here.

You might be suprised at how much of AZ is beautiful, but of course thats all in the eye of the beholder. Every place has its nice and not so nice places.

I moved to Flagstaff from Ohio, and all the time I get, "oh i bet its hot there!"
NOOOOOOOOO THERES SNOW ON THE PEAKS.
arizona is hella-diverse, its great. If i get too cold i can drive 2 hours to phoenix and roast.

Those are nice pics. I didn't think AZ was that thickly forested. I have a friend who lives in Flagstaff. He talks about the cool stuff out there a lot. The San Juan River (I think). The Red River. The canyons and Native glyphs. I didn't picture it to be that lush though. Thanks. I could post some pics of the Illinois country. It's surprising how beautiful Illinois can be.

Heh... When I think of Arizona I think of deserts and cacti and scorching heat, not trees and lakes. That's just weird. :P

Here's a couple more from Southern AZ, about 5 miles north of the Mexican border. Quite different.

Nice, I like trout fishing, but I've never caught any in a lake before...Well actually I don't think I've ever caught anything in a lake before (probably because it's really hard for me to get up at dawn on the weekend and go out on a boat!)

That's the beauty, you don't have to be up at dawn in a boat. I catch trout and bass all day long at many lakes from the shore. Sometimes the fishing's not so hot, but I usually have good luck.

I hope I can post some pictures. I havn't been able to lately. I don't know why. I'll try again. I've been to lots of cool spots in Illinois in the last two years: up and down rivers; in upland and bottomland forests with unique rock formations; in wetlands, prairies and lakes...

Well, I can't post all my pictures for some reason.  This is a little waterfall and pool near the Illinois River about 80 miles outside of Chicago.  I'll try again later I guess.

Let's see if these work..  Well, what do ya know... These are some random shots 1) overlooking the Big Muddy River and the Mississippi River valleys from a sandstone bluff in southern Illinois
2) that same waterfall from a different angle
3) looking down at a wetland from the sandstone bluff (that's a tributary creek of the Big Muddy)

here's a few more from the same spot... 1) looking down into that wetland from the bluff --a longer view shows the topography 2)the sandstone bluff I was standing very carefully on 3) down in the canyon there were all these pools of stagnant water from a creek that flows in springtime (this was midsummer 2002).  And there were hundreds of frogs camping out in these gulches.
