Jar incubation
    #9810514 - 02/16/09 08:49 PM (15 years, 2 months ago)

Just wanted to let everyone in on something i kinda happened on.for those of you that don't have a heating pad handy a simple alternative i been using is the top of my cable box.i just leave a little room for the cable box to vent.i usually only put like 5 jars up there at a time just to start the spores.it makes pans grow very quickly when i leave them up there and normally i get spore to myc within two days using this handy little incubation technique

Gar, I envy your colonizing time. What size jars are you using?
WBS or Rye?

been doing experiments with both.I find the wild bird dove and quail feed i get at the feed store is awesome stuff.i ll get the brand for ya if you like when i get a new bag. the rye im using is just arrowhead mills.pans seem to like rye better too i ve noticed.i get faster colinzing times with rye with the pans.cubes seem to colinize the wbs faster.oysters are quick movers on both.i use quart jars by the way.ball wide mouth and golden harvest regular but all quart sized
