You're reading the last of the trilogy? Or what is the last one... Foundation and Earth. Whichever has Gaia in it. I read all seven, but I still need to read some of the short stories, and pretty much most of the books about robots.
Foundation will make an awesome movie though if they do it right. It'll be hard to film, but so was LOTR.

no the last he wrote before he died. Forward the Foundation. its one of the 2 books that take place before "Foundation". Its a good view on alot of the stuff they gloss over in other books.

I read the books in a weird order.
foundation and earth, foundation and empire, foundation, second foundation, foundations edge, prelude to foundation and now forward to foundation. thats what i liked about them. You can start anywhere really except for were i started cause i knew the conclusion to trevizes story before the beginning.

That's right. I read the trilogy, and then I read all seven in chronological order. But even in that order, it's still weird. It's meant to be read more than once in different orders I suspect, since they intertwine so much.
I suspect when I've read the robot series and short stories, I'll have to go back again in about a decade and see what I missed. It's a good thing we humans live decently long lives.

I think im more interested in the empire novels that the robot novels, though ive never read any of them.
I think the idea is so cool. The origins of the human race lost and for as long as history goes man has been in a colonized galexy. I wish he could have done the other five hundred years of the story and the rise of the second empire.

The novelty of the robot novels have worn off. If anything, they have defined our concepts of robots passively through those who read them at the time. But I think that I can read them in context.

I think they're awesome because it shows a really cool old fashioned perspective on robots and technology. Old science fiction is my favourite genre. Robots and Empire is one of my favourites of his.

I love the Robot and Foundation series. Asimov is always an enjoyable read. If you have a used bookstore in your area, I recommend picking off some science fiction. There is a lot of good stuff out there.
