Alice in Wonderland is absolutely wild tripping.  My favorite scene would have to be the mad tea party.  My three friends and I could not stop laughing throughout this whole scene.  When the mad hatter and the march hair are spreading jam on the watch just cracked me up tripping.  I also like the part where she is in the woods and starts to see the bird with a mirror and glasses on and the dog with a tail thats a broom.  This was a great movie to watch on mushrooms however the part with the queen can kind of give you the heeby jeebies for a little bit.

HEY! I think the Caterpiller smokes AMANITAS! It also seats on one! I know it might sound strange.. but actually (IMO) the whole story is based on a Amanitas trip among with the stuff you mentioned. Anyone triped on Amanitas? The whole thing is based on dreaming! You might find yourself in very faraway places without realsing where you actually are. Everything is so real. Maybe someone who tripped on them might share some knowledge.

Check this out: a very nice Alice site

Carrol sure was a weird man, but he was not on anything...
little girls maybe and fantasies...

And about Alice movies. Damn. You HAVE to READ Alice books. READ! READ!!!!!!!!

Reading Carrol is probably not the best thing to do on a trip, but its way much better than watching those Disney movies...

Wow... yeah the movies are great. Though I'm a little against Disney in general, I feel they slaughter literary masterpieces for fun and profit. It's not enough that I'd say I hate them (cuz man I love Donald) but it's enough I couldn't watch a prime example of this while tripping. But on the other hand I've had a copy I recorded of the TV miniseries from the 80's that I just love. If I had a video capture card, I'd make a digital copy for you guys, it was great. It really exemplified the nonsense dialogs that I loved from the books (being it didn't focus on special effects so much). The other movie, "Through the Looking Glass" was excellent too, a lot more trippy visual stuff, more abstract.

The disappointing thing about reading Carroll is finishing Wonderland and Looking Glass to find out nothing else he did came anywhere near to the same style. I was sourly disappointed with Sylvie and Bruno. Phantasmagoria was interesting, but still just not the same. I did though like some of his puzzle games and poems. Particularly "Solitude", which because I'm bored, I'll hunt down a copy to cut and paste (well I'm not bored enough to type it).

I LOVE the stillness of the wood:
I love the music of the rill:
I love to couch in pensive mood
Upon some silent hill.

Scarce heard, beneath yon arching trees,
The silver-crested ripples pass;
And, like a mimic brook, the breeze
Whispers among the grass.

Here from the world I win release,
Nor scorn of men, nor footstep rude,
Break in to mar the holy peace
Of this great solitude.

Here may the silent tears I weep
Lull the vexed spirit into rest,
As infants sob themselves to sleep
Upon a mother?s breast.

But when the bitter hour is gone,
And the keen throbbing pangs are still,
Oh, sweetest then to couch alone
Upon some silent hill!

To live in joys that once have been,
To put the cold world out of sight,
And deck life?s drear and barren scene
With hues of rainbow-light.

For what to man the gift of breath,
If sorrow be his lot below;
If all the day that ends in death
Be dark with clouds of woe?

Shall the poor transport of an hour
Repay long years of sore distress
The fragrance of a lonely flower
Make glad the wilderness?

Ye golden hours of Life?s young spring,
Of innocence, of love and truth!
Bright, beyond all imagining,
Thou fairy-dream of youth!

I?d give all wealth that years have piled,
The slow result of Life?s decay,
To be once more a little child
For one bright summer-day.

March 16, 1853..
